As the industrialization of England starts, the countryside suffers. The old entrepreneurs came to live a difficult time. The Rowes were no different. At Rose Hall, they lived among luxury and comfort. Marguerite Rowe believed life would be just like the novels she and her sisters usually read under the covers: with a polite rich man coming along and sweeping them off their silk shoes. But disgrace is what comes to the family. After losing their wealth and Mr.Rowe's suicide, any chance for the girls to have a good marriage dies.
