Rosebeau is the daughter of a Great Man, which is the title of a powerful position in the city. Because of her father's lofty position, Rosebeau has a high-level education and vocabulary. For the majority of her life, she was extremely shy and delicate and clung to her family like glue. However, through years of hard living (and general adolescence), she has developed a fiery personality that manifests itself in her persistent determination and, occasionally, comical comments. This book is the story of Rosebeau as she survives in a false utopia.
