Hanging By A Thread (Asa Butterfield Fanfiction)
"Tell me one thing you know for sure." She asks, and he feels a knot forming in his stomach. He desperately wanted to give her a plain, likely answer, but he knew it was time to confess. "One thing I know for sure," he repeats, as his breath gets stuck in his throat, his eyes locked with hers, "is that I love you. And I'm hoping that you'll love me too. Maybe not now, but maybe someday you'll feel the same. Maybe."

Asa Butterfield never truly believed in love, having a horrible example from his parents. Maybe just in the movies he's starring in. He's done things, most of them done just to prove to his parents that he is worth something. He strives hard to be the perfect son. He thinks he's got the whole world wrapped around his finger most of the time, well, until Cathy Stones stumbles into his life. He desperately tries to convince everyone, including himself that he feels nothing but hatred for her. But slowly, his mask is beginning to fade away. They are never caught together and if they were, only mere death glares and stares would be thrown back and forth between the two. Only some sort of miracle could put them in the same room. And that miracle seemed to have started when Asa was cast for a movie set to take place in Times Square; and as a sign of Cupid's destiny, Cathy is asked to keep an eye on him as she studies there as well. Love blooms between them, and both are trying to deny it, but at the end of the day, they both know that they're head over heels for one another. They are both hiding feelings they could've sworn never existed, but finally have to accept that they are stronger than they ever wanted them to be. Their love could break and shatter in a New York minute. Will their love ever be strong enough?
