Theo practiced a life of silence and earned the gifts of prophecy and perception, for which she received the title of prophet. During 18 years of living in Patmos, up to her death, she was close to Barsanuphius of Palestine, with whom she exchanged letters. Knowing the date of her demise and in response to Abba Elianus' request she postponed her death for two weeks. Upon this time she recieves a vision of the Revelation. This term has come to mean, in common usage, the end of the world.
