A New Beginning

I walked through the front door to my house and that's when I saw them. My parents were in the living room holding beer bottles and they were completely drunk....like always. "Hey, Rob!" my mom shouted at my dad, "Little Miss Ugly is back." She nodded in my direction. He walked over to me and punching me in the stomach. "You shouldn't have come back, Sophie," he whispered in my ear. I let out a loud cry as pain rushed through my body and tears streamed down my face. "Leave!! No one loves you, and no one will ever love you, Sophie! Get out of my house!!" he screamed at me. And with that I ran through the same door I had just entered seconds before. I ran and ran without taking another glance back. I ran for a few days, stopping in dark allies on the way. Before I knew it, there was a building in front of me with the words 'Families For Children' on the sign in big colorful letters. It was a foster home. I walked in to the building and came up to the front desk where I told the lady my story and immediately, she took me in and showed me a room. My life was better there. I had A New Beginning.
