A young boy named Xerxes Vessalis one day runs away from home and meets a girl named Katherine Witchwall. They soon meets a sorcerer and learns about a monsters known as chains that have broken out of the Abyss. Will Xerxes and Katherine survive and (possibly) stop this madness?
