Every small town has its secrets. Some secrets don't mean much, upheld by simple traditions, or legacies that past generations had left behind. But some secrets are more dangerous than anyone could possibly ever comprehend. Alyssa Riets is a normal 17 year old girl. Normal, mostly. Excluding the fact that her older brother is her guardian, seeing as their parents died in a car accident the year before. And Alyssa had been in the car. The kind of damage both the car and her parents' bodies suffered should have killed Alyssa as well. But she was alive. When strange things start to go bump in the night, Alyssa immediately thinks back to the car accident. Notes appear all around her, and some of the old ladies in town bring up Doctor William Price. The ghost -or maybe something else- that haunts the town of Duskin, Nebraska, where Alyssa lived. But what did William Price have to do with her parents' deaths? And why was he haunting her? Alyssa finds herself paranoid, and desperate for answers. Answers she may or may not want to hear.
