Sonnet VI: Plato's Lover

This is a Petrarchan Sonnet (Italian sonnet) with an abba, dceecd, abba rhyme scheme. It is modeled in the pre-Chaucer style and therefore in unmetered. In this poem the sestet comes in the middle with the octave split before and after the sestet.

A classic union (in the Platonic sense) of form and theme.  Lovely line--"into his cup - philosophy unveiled".
