After being released from five years spent in jail, Elliot Kell realizes that her family had turned their backs on her years ago and that she has no choice but to move in with her cousin Dennis, or Blaze, as he's more popularly known as around the streets of Chicago. It turns out that he was the only family she had left that didn't mind her criminal record, but that's only logical considering he's a big time drug dealer for the city's most notorious gang, the Hellhounds. When Elliot ends up being dragged into the gang life herself, she discovers a young man her age named Dominic Bailey. Dominic is the ruthless protege of the gang's leader and has a heart as cold and calculating as as his menacing glare. He has a reputation of being reckless and self-destructive for reasons unknown to outsiders, but while Elliot is living with Blaze, she and Dominic begin to see a lot of each other and she finds herself wanting to understand him. Dominic's stone cold heart of his just might be able to thaw with the help of Elliot's.
