@Eclipse119 For me, it's having a good beginning. I always have a great middle and ending plans, but the beginning is always hard for me, haha |

Middle. You don't have the 'yay, new novel' motivation of the beginning or the 'yay, almost finished' thing of the end. And keeping with the novel is hard for me and also trying to make it sound professional without all the 'modern' language :) |

To me, it's probably getting to KNOW the characters, like what they would say, think, and all that jazz... But! I think before you have ever written a book (well, at least for me) it was really hard to write, but now ideas pop out of nowhere, and i can write! Oh, imagination... |

My problem is usually the introduction of the characters. I find it difficult to describe them all. I like peppering hints through to story the same with any of their secrets as well. So it makes a lot of people point out my lack of description. I just don't know how to full on tell anyone what someone looks like :s |

@charlesD Haha! Yeah, writing does come easier after you've done it for awhile:) and i know exactly what you mean. You want the readers to know the characters personality and thoughts but sometimes it's hard to put in words |

@Nadie_Rae Middle is hard a lot, especially if you need sort of a bridge to something exciting that you have planned at the end. |

I think it's easy for me to come up with the whole story, beginning, middle and end. But continuing the story is my problem. After thinking hours on how my story is going to play out, it starts to get boring. I have never finished a book. but My story He's Real To Me is going to be the first book I've finished. If you wanna check it out, that would be awesome. @Eclipse119 |

The beginning and the end are the hardest parts for me. "How do I start the story so that it's interesting?," or "What would be a convincing ending?" XD I have finished so few stories that I've started writing... O.o And names are really hard for me. I have so much trouble coming up with names... |

Stopping long enough to eat. Or running out of caffeine and getting out of the 'zone'. |

For me, it's getting the first chunk out. That first part that gets everyone introduced and getting to the plot. I hate the first few chapters because it's hard and almost boring to me because I've had this story in my head for weeks before I decide to write it. |

I'm probably the worst writer out there. I get a brainwave on the start of a story, perhaps a chapeter or two, and then have no idea how to go on from there. I get too worked up on trying to make it original, that i tend to cry off from it all together... |

@FairyTell Maybe you should just be writing short stories. There's nothing wrong with short stories, they are not inferior to novels, it is just a different style of technique that is required to write it, and some people are better at them. Some people actually find writing novels easier. I like my stories to take place in a brief period of time, with as much detail as I can put into that moment. To answer the question, though - THE END! |

Beginning. Whenever I start a story I always try to make the beginning perfect and then I'll move on. Like, I will proofread and try to get every detail the way I want it. I have been writing for around four years and have yet to finish a story. I have started dozens of stories and they are left unfinished. Motivation is the hardest thing to get. Hopefully, 2012 will be THE year. |

Trying to get into each character. So they don't all sound the same. Showing the personality of them easily. |

I agree with you, op. It is hard for me to get the reader interested! At first it just seems so normal and average, and then it gets stranger, and stranger, and OMG! I also have issues with where I should have my characters go next.... |
