User's Guide to Wattpad

@WildRose393 Oh, what does it say? Does it say "Go Online"? Or does it stay on "Signing on. Please wait..."?

If the first one, just click Go Online and it should work.

If the second one, try refreshing the page. If that doesn't work, log off of Wattpad, clear your internet cache, and log back in. If that still doesn't work, then it might be caused by a slow internet connection. What country do you live in exactly? I'm not sure if meebo's particular about any place. :)

Lol, dude thank you, i think its fine now :D ithink it was my internet connection, i face that alot :P I live in the middle east, so yh another problem, But i think its all good now THANK YOU! :D

Hey . . . I need help! I uploaded a new cover for my book but the old one keeps showing up when I click into the chapters and when I view it on my page! How do i get rid of it?

@Mel_1995 I'm assuming you mean your Facebook's newsfeed. (Since WP's newsfeed isn't really something we can tinker with :/). I'm not sure if I'll be much help because I've NEVER connected by Facebook to Wattpad before. @BeccaM304 Are you sure it's uploaded? Maybe the upload didn't go through properly. It does that sometimes when the internet connection isn't all that great or when you caught Wattpad at a high traffic time. Clear your internet cache and try it again.

It's also possible that it's just taking Wattpad a while to update their data. Give it at least 24 hours. If you're still having trouble, contact Wattpad through here: http://support.wattpad.com/requests/new

@Archleone no its not the facebook feed it's just that wattpad keeps on recommending stories to me and I just really don't want them on my news feed here on wattpad

Hey, I'm new. So I'm mainly looking for a place to post my stories on the web and stumbled across here. So how long are average original stories on here (not short stories) and do your stories have to be completely finished to post?

@pingpongbear7 You can't control the number of pages there are on a chapter sadly. It's automatically set based on how long the chapter is. So if it's not long enough to warrant a second page, you won't get the second page. As for creating a new part, please view this thread: http://www.wattpad.com/forums/discussion/6428/

@EriAlc7 The length varies. Generally, if it's 30 pages or under, it's a short story/novella. I'm not aware of any set length per story though, so you'll be fine :) And nope, it doesn't have to be finished. Some people prefer reading complete stories but a lot of Wattpaders enjoy reading a story in short chunks kind of like watching an episode of your favorite TV show every week.

@angelann What do you mean how to view videos? You mean the ones on the side of the stories? Just hit the play button - that arrow that faces to the right and it should load :)

this is probably a stupid question, but how do you add the chapter name? you add the title, i got that, but underneath don't you need the chapter name?

@RedNeckRiter Yup. Just go to the page of the story, and above the box that has your username, dp, description, etc, you'll see a pane title WRITER TOOLS. You'll find the edit button there under the picture of a pencil

@mercurialmoonlight Ah, yes. When you upload a story for the first time, it automatically gets turned into a Story Group so the title you choose for that first chapter also becomes the title of the Story Group. Not sure if that made much sense but here's what you do to change the title of the Chapter:

1. Go to your My Works page.

2. Clicking Manage will enable you to input the description and change the title of the Story Group.

3. In order to change the chapter's title, click on EDIT on the chapter you want to rename and change the title :)

@pingpongbear7 hi there, first of all put your cursor or mouse ,under your name ,then my works and library and so on ,will come up, look to the right and you will see new chapter heading ,click on this , click on my works and wait for your story, then click under new chapter, you,ll be fine then ,good luck...

@Dallytexas I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to remove your post as this is not an advertisement thread as I emphasized at the beginning. Though, I do sympathize with your friend. I'd suggest going over to the Share Your Story Club or Critiquing Club if she's in dire need of readers :)
