Anyone sick of vote trading?

Well I know you're sick of it. I am, too.

People nowadays... "If you vote on mine, I'll vote on yours!"

Did you ever appreciate the work TheOrangutan did? He's the forum moderator, mind you.

Always having to go around, checking out the forums to see if they broke the rules or not.

I'm sick of these people giving fake votes. It's prohibited under Wattpad's terms of service but what do you peoppe do?

Nothing.

You think popularity's so important? Maybe, but what's the point of having fake votes?

Everyday, you see an extra vote, but do you ever think that that vote was only just a trade?

Are you a blind bat or something?

Ugh.

so true- I've been seeing a lot of those "vote for vote" threads lately and it's starting to make me upset. It's just people cheating to get a higher place in the Watty Awards @Rach3lDesiree

Completely agreed. It's unfair. I think Wattpad should change the way of the Watty Awards judging @HarmonyHouse

they take reads/comments/votes all into account, though I'm not entirely sure how it works. I know admins are working on killing off vote for vote threads though

It's more a pain because they aren't reading your work because its good or interesting they read it because they have to...then those - wait for it - fake comments. The watty awards need to have a better judging system.

I think they should read the books and judge them themselves, without looking at votes or comments.

@Rach3lDesiree I know a person like that but she doesn't just vote trade she also fan trade and reads trade she comments in random stories and point out simple mistakes and say fan me vote my story and read it then I will fan you vote your stories and continue reading. she is online a lot of times but last i saw her profile she is fan of 18 users and she has 92 fans. I ignored her message

I do too. I was that kind of person until i use the time in tradig sth to improve my story and the reads increase instantly. That was when I realized it. Those people are destroying the art of writting. It's not about popularity but the excitement people get by reading our story @Rach3lDesiree

@adelene1357 Really? That's just plain rude. Also, there's this one user who had a deal with me to do comment for honest comment but then she started taking things too far, telling me that she's new and needs me to promote her story, I said okay. Then she messages me again saying that she needs me to add her story to my library. That was when I felt that it was rude so I replied I only add the ones that I like truly and read so she said "Okay. Read mine."

I get other deals, with comments and such, but voting trades... Just no.

What I really don't get is why everyone's so reluctant to help each other. They say they love the story and all that, but no one ever votes. Every time I make a R4R or C4C (I do honest comments, or comment only if you like it/ strictly reading, mind you), unless the story's absolutely atrocious and has no good points, I vote. If I like one part of story, I vote. It helps someone and it can make them smile, so really what's wrong with it?

The other thing I hate, is being ripped off. This happened to me a couple weeks ago, I hadn't really done and R4Rs or C4C except my own, so I decided to try one. I clicked on one, looked through everything, posted the password and my story. Then I read and honestly commented of four chapters of the person's story. The only thing I got in return? One vote. That's it. No comments. The person didn't even click on any of the other chapters. Then there was another time, where it was whole story for whole story, I spent an hour, reading and commenting on their story, and all they do is click on the first chapter, vote, go to the last chapter and vote. Done in less than 2 minutes.

I don't really care about the votes or comments I get, like, I want feedback, but I'd keep uploading if I didn't get them, it's just the lack of honesty that's shown in the SYS club sometimes makes me mad.
