Which one is better? Well, I'm a strong Christian, so I will definantly go that way, but let's see... With Christianity, you have the chance to hope for an everlasting life in a world that is greater than ours. It makes our world look like a mere shadow. With Atheism, you don't have to believe in anything. But really, it isn't that hard to believe that there it one, all powerful figure that created us from dust, and then there's the son of that figure that beat death itself. With Christiantity, you can talk to someone that won't make fun of you, laugh, tell your secrets, ect. Atheism doesn't have anyone you can talk to but yourself. Science vs Christianity. Hm, a bunch of gasses created a big explosion that made Earth, or God created it. Humans are related to monkeys, or God made us from dust. Neither sounds completely believable, but that's what faith is for. Any questions, comments, concerns, ect? |

@cats3580 Well, Buddhism is a clear winner here. You just sit and meditate until you're enlightened and have a glorious life. What could be better? |

@cats3580 None is better. Both are categorical definitions of different belief systems - and not many people really are only just 'Christians' or 'Atheists' - would be very boring, wouldn't it? As for all the arguments anyone could ever bring for any of the two mentioned sides, they're all but threads of a big pair of trousers. I could imagine being only Atheist - only with the goal of not believing - would be really boring... as well as being only Christian and believing all day long. @Cataclysm Buddhism? What's with the FSM? And Discordia? I'll stay with Discordia. Join us, infidel, we're the only ones to appreciate apples (not the crappy brand, but the fruits.) Fnord. |

Christianity deffinately takes the cake here, I mean what more could you ask than to spend forever in heaven with a God that loves you more than you can even fathom, and will accept you no matter what you do? @Cataclysm Who even said anything about Buddhism? But I dissagree with you, Obviously... |

@katbug9608 Islam and Judaism are also pretty cool, as far as I know. But I think Discordianism still takes the cake in every situation. |

@cats3580 Anyway, it's pretty obvious that everyone here is going to choose their own beliefs as the better one. As @JohnHStyles said, there really is no BETTER belief system, it's just how each person thinks. That's like saying whether being black or white is better, in my opinion. There's no better skin color, it's just how you are. But, because I don't conform to society, I'll say Christianity is better. You only have to read one book, while there are endless science books and jeepers, that takes time and effort like a mofo. |

@Cataclysm It's hard to describe. It's like the shining apple floating around at night, like the smell of fresh rainbows on a dark morning - like the feeling you have when you get out of a car and ask the guy next to you if this is Las Vegas or Detroit and he just looks at you and says, "Timmy, are you okay?" and you reply, "Mum? Yes, I'm okay." and then you find out that you're actually really in Las Vegas and have no idea how you got there, but then you hear this one really cool Tom Jones song and remember that one weird movie you've seen years ago and look to your mum again, but suddenly it's Jack who told you that he can't remember anything because he was so drunk and didn't find the car keys at first, then decided to drive to Las Vegas with you and a few friends - too much alcohol was involved, apparently - but those friends weren't there - he must have left them all at some gas station. |

@newrageguru Nope. But I'm not sure if he had any connection to Discordianism. Would be fitting, though. |

When I was in school I found that the Catholic school girls put out more then the athiest ones... I guess that's a point for Christianity in my books. |

@cats3580 Well I believe that there is a God and that he did make us out of dust. I learned in youth one wed. is that if you have the faith of a musterseed you can move mountains. |

It is so funny to hear Christianity being reduced as a belief system. Christianity shows the history of man and the re-creation of the world (as we know it.) It shows us who we are without God and who we are with God. It shows what life and death are. It shows us what sin is and what being made righteous is. It shows us how to obtain supernatural power. It shows us how to defeat sickness & lack. It gives us hope based on truth. It shows us our future here on earth and in heaven and back on earth again. Furthermore it will take AGES for God to show us ALL of His goodness. AGES! We are living in the age of grace where His grace is poured out upon us all (friend and foe alike.) This age will be coming to a close soon. We have evidence of the flood. God said He will purify the earth next time with fire. It is not a religion to follow (earning points and being condemned if you fail.) Religion is set up by man to take man away from the truth of God. Jesus came to provide a way for us to have a relationship with Him. There is proof of His life & His death. Roman documentation and Jewish documentation. We have historical evidence of the star of Bethlehem. God will show you how real He is. He wants to have a relationship with you. He already knows you (He sees what is in your heart) He knows you better than you know yourself. Now you need to get to know Him by reading His word and trusting Him. That is all He wants…trust. |
