This is about the epic, folks... My epic... I don't know about you guys, but I've been making my first attempt at it today... In fact, I already started on the first chapter, only about 40 lines in and it's pretty slow going, but it's getting there... I had a really crazy dream last night, and it's kinda pushed me into writing the first chapter, which is kinda like a prologue... I have a good idea of how my epic is gonna start and a general idea of where it's gonna go, but how it's gonna end I have no idea... But I do know this for sure... It'll have 3 major parts... Each part will be kinda like an episode comprised of several chapters... Each chapter will be between100-200 lines long, which is actually quite short for most epic poems... My reasoning for this is that when you write shorter chapters (100-200 lines long) as opposed to longer ones (500-1000+ lines), it becomes easier to manage...

I know a lot of you guys taking this challenge are wondering how you'll be able to tackle this epic poem... Well, believe it or not, writing an epic is a lot like writing a novel... You got your story line, your characters, your dialogue and action, all of which are elements of narration... That's all it is... Story-telling... The only difference between writing a novel and writing an epic is the form in which you write... In novels, you write paragraphs, while in epics you write stanzas... The trick to writing an epic to to take little chunks at a time... Like for me, I think the most lines I can write comfortably is about 50 lines per day... So if I'm gonna make my quota of 150 lines, I'll write 50 lines every day for 3 days... Now given that life is complicated with hw, tests and and life in general, doubled it to 6 days... And that roughly translates to 150 lines (or a chapter) per week... If I can keep this up, then I'm good... Now how you decide to tackle the epic is your choice, but remember to just write it in chunks... These chunks will accumulate... That's it for now... I'll be posting more of my observations if I have any...

@Intrepid_Imaginer I know... Most people taking this challenge are pretty far behind... Warrior_Prophet and I are the only two that aren't... And so far, I'm the only one that's caught up with everything... If you got any questions or difficulties with any of the entries for the challenge, you can ask me if you want...
