Summary: A girl (with violent tendencies and whose sarcasm is second nature), Callie, and a tall, awkward boy, Kalen, (Dark, mop-like hair,) both die the same way on the same day (hit by a truck). Kalen tried to save her, but they died anyway. Neither have dads, Callie’s mom is depressed, but loving. Kalen's mom basically hates him. They're trapped on their way to wherever you go when you die, which, in the book, is a place called Abeyance. They have to solve things to figure out a way to fix it, and it's very strange, emotional, and sort of mysterious. They can't be separated from each other, or they will both die right away. They basically keep each other alive, more or less. They try to keep their feelings from each other as the book goes on, because it's too difficult and pointless to love each other if they're gonna die anyhow, right? It's very paranormal and intense and emotional.

Nathan Kress would be one of my best choices for Kalen. (You can get clips from when he appeared on CSI, and, of course, iCarly! :P)
