Here is a story from 1962. I would describe it as "charming". It is in Librivox and the reader is good which is often not the case at Librivox. 09 – The Servant Problem by Robert F Young Cat and Mouse by Ralph Williams-(1959) – 01:02:34 The writing is good, the story is good and the reading is good. It is curiously similar to Cat and Mouse which was nominated for a Hugo. It also contains a little astronomy. http://librivox.org/short-science-fiction-collection-028/ http://librivox.org/short-science-fiction-collection-vol-007/ |

Mine's sort of sci-fi, but it's a short story, almost completed... Only check it out if you like the sound of it :D http://www.wattpad.com/2875502-abilities-prologue
Have you ever had that feeling that something is ever so slightly wrong, but you just can't tell what it is? Lea has felt like that her whole life. She lives in a world where her purpose is to complete tasks and gain Abilities, to obey and serve Him. She lives in fear of being taken, but once she begins to question everything, her whole life spirals out of control. |

"Stranger in a Strange Land' by Robert Heinlein is one of the finest science fiction novels ever penned. I even teach my university students (I teach world religions) the Martian word "Grok" which Heinlein coined for the book. @musicmadme |

Check out xoxZaniexox 's story called "Clones" ! --->Michael is a GAA; Genetically Altered Agents. He doesn't remember much but he knows one things for sure, he and the other GAAs were trained for a reason. He and five other GAAs from different camps are sent to a small town in Montana to attend high school. At first everything goes well; they are stronger, smarter, and faster than all except for one student. Alina is the only student who is smarter than the GAAs, and she suspects that something if off about them. One day, she finds a piece of paper that has names of the six students on it, along with a logo with the letters "GAA". Whatever it is about, she is determined to find out. After threatening to tell the school about what she found. Michael tells her. The two eventually develop feelings towards each other. Although one day, without a trace... Alina disappears. Did the people who created the GAAs took her because she knew? Or is it something else? |

I HIGHLY recommend Andrew_Mosier. He's absolutely AMAZING. I'm currently reading Chrono Catching... How To Unbake A Cake is also fantastic. You should seriously check him out, he's one of the best writers that I've come across on Wattpad. http://www.wattpad.com/user/Andrew_Mosier |

http://www.wattpad.com/3365620-the-machine%27s-symphony# In a nutshell: The year is 3021, and there have barely been any advances in science since 2012. It's a bleak future that appears to headed no where. Five teenagers group up together under the commans of Jacobson Montgomery in a gang much like a mordernized Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Jacobson being Robin Hood and the others, a few years younger, being his Merry Men. Jacobson had originally organised the entire thing himself in order to take from the pompous aristocrats and give to the neglected, malnourished poor. But on his eighteenth birthday, he makes a revelation and decides to give up on the fantasy that he can fix the city. Instead, he joins the military, leaving his younger brother, Elijah, to be in charge. Elijah, at age sixteen, becomes the leader of the group of other fellow sixteen year old boys, who refer to each other all as brothers even though they are not related. They see each other as related by bond. Jacobson, Elijah's actual, biological brother, is pronounced dead a year later. Now, Elijah has to deal with his emotionall unstable parent's who secretly abuse him, all while trying to keep his usual charming personality up with his friends who begin to suspect something. Elijah must take on his brother's role, steal secretly from the rich and give to the poor, all while having to deal with his physically and mentally abusive parent's. He turns to classical music and novels as his comfort, being a secret genius. Can his friends unlock Elijah's secret in this falling, bleak world before his parent's drag him to death doorstep? |

As @ChelseaSmiles has said, @Andrew_Mosier is phenomenal. I would also recommend W.U.M.E if you have not read it already.. I ignored it for a long time till I saw in Andrew's forbidden planet interview how much he enjoyed. That got me curious and I was absolutely NOT disappointed! Also the first work here on Wattpad to really catch my attention was the recent Watty winnder M.A.I.D.S. So there you have it a few ideas from here if you've not checked them out already. |

@JoeTite Once again, thanks for the good reviews! I didn't think anybody read that interview! I didn't really pay attention to the Watty Awards, but I am glad that M.A.I.D.S. won. @ChelseaSmiles - Thank you for the recommendation. I only wish I had more finished works for you guys to enjoy. As my Tips for Writing Well book says though, I am currently working on putting more structure into my writing, so it does not meander as much, and packs more of a punch. I am still trying to keep up with my older stories though. Right now my main focus is We are Less, but Chrono-Caching is next on the list, and I usually work on one if I get stuck on the other. |

@Andrew_Mosier lol just read today as a matter of fact. I have taken a few glances at @ForbiddenPlanet 's break down of different sci-fi sub-genres but that was all. Today (yesterday maybe? it's all a blur lol) I finally clicked on planet to see the profile, come to find out one work was the a fore mentioned book I was already perusing, and the other sci-fi author interview... couldn't help myself I HAD to see if you were in there! and no... thank YOU for sharing your gift! |

@JoeTite Well, I do have to tell you, that while still working on my other pieces, my main focus has turned to having the better structure. I guess you could say that while my writing is good, my "weaving" needs some effort. I hoped you liked the interview. I tried to make it entertaining and truthful. |

@kimathy What sorts of superpowers are you dealing with? I have a character who has "ESP" whose mechanism is related to higher (i.e., 4+) dimensions. However, the whole thing is a bit tongue in cheek and mostly focused on the absurd. I'm working on fleshing out characters right now, so it's in a bit of an early stage. Anyway, I'd be interested in what sorts of superpowers your characters have. Right now I've started to read 'Flatland' actually to figure out what the 4th dimension might be like. |

I just released the first part of a three part short story, titled The Shredders. It revolves around an unnamed male character who is a part of a resistance against these green aliens called Shredders. The first part is pretty short, so you can probably check it out and finish it in a few minutes. I'll post a link in case you're interested. http://www.wattpad.com/3412591-the-shredders Also, I released a Star Wars Fan-Fiction not too long ago, it's titled Star Wars: Rookie Blues. |

you could try mine, if you want: http://www.wattpad.com/1887114-inamorata-chapter-one-rose Nightingale is human - or would be, had it not been for the manner of her creation. Genetically engineered and grown to adulthood in a lab, she was created, not born. Why? For the sole purpose of the entertainment of rich men as one of the many Inamoratas in the bordello business . Beautiful, elegant, a superb dancer and an even better singer, she is the perfect lover for any man. Perfect, that is, except for her personality - the one thing you can't engineer. |

They want to eat us!” Nobody wanted to believe the warning that aired on every television station that fateful night, but in all but a few hours civilization was decimated by the zombie attack.
