@Foxnsox the doctor being a timelord, only has 13 regenerations and he's on his 11th. He regenerates if he gets hurt to the point of dying, so If he gets morally injured in the next season (season 7) he'll only have one left :( and then the show will have to end... :(

If I remember correctly I heard they discussed that in an episode of the cartoon and solved it so he has unlimited regenerations or at least a lot more left, I think because of River or something.

@Angel_Crouleur if the doctor can still be living AFTER the day he was supposed to die, then he can do anything including living after 13 regenerations. I have no worries about the show ending at all

Maybe they are going to make the doctor find a pool of life and an alien like davros will find it. Then the doctor will fall inside and the 13 regeneration system will become obsolete.

Oh, who I really think they NEED to bring back is his granddaughter Susan. He told her he would come back for her and he hasn't yet!
