WTF. Why is Wattpad SO strict? Dang man. Crazy strict. ;/ Thought it'd be more free to express. All those damn rules. -_- ... I understand there are rules to set standards and limits, but I think it's going overboard & can be overaggerated, don't you think? Don't do this, don't do that. What the hell? I love Wattpad but man y'all too strict on every angle! You ONLY post this here or I'll kick you out or I'll close the thread. Wow. Nice way to keep a Wattpad member, right? No. Wattpad should learn to be more friendly & loose on certain things. I admit some might disagree with me but I think the rules are a bit too far stretched that it doesn't make sense to be THAT strict on such small things. |

@mythinkingbox Hey! I get where you were coming from. When I was just a regular wattpader I thought the same but I realized that Wattpad sets rules for a reason. If the story requests are allowed on story comments, or any other club then there will be chaos. Imagine going to a Romance club and you want to read a thread related to Romance like what's your fave romantic movie or like talking about some Romantic scene in a movie and you see a bunch of story requests. Wouldn't that aggravate you? And that would be unfair to the wattpaders who want to go to a place to talk about a genre like Romance. Therefore Wattpad created a club specifically for story requests so Wattpaders can have no problem running into story requests. Wattpad has the easiest rules, in my opinion. All you have to do is 1) Be nice 2) No porno/vulgar writing (cursing is fine but nothing like something from a playboy magazine or something) 3) Don't copy text from anywhere else. It's fairly simple. This thread was meant only for newcomers so for people to ask "read my story" here in this thread will 1) be irritating to the newcomers and me as well since I took so much time writing the advice manual in this thread and 2) Newcomers will easily just accept the story request. This will be unfair to the others who will think "I want to ask others to read my story too!" Wattpad is trying hard and I think they are very patient with their wattpaders. If you still disagree, that's okay. It's your opinion. But hopefully you understand. |

@GuerillaRadio Hey! This thread was only for newcomers with questions. I did write an advice manual which specifically said that story requests are only allowed in Share Your Story Club and then you comment asking to read your story. I know that you want your story out but keep in mind that this thread is only for newcomers with questions. Addressing and requesting are pretty much the same. If you still want me to read your story, personally, then click onto my profile and go under "My Works" and click "Post Your Story Here Only" but next time just remind yourself that Share Your Story is a great place to request people to read your story. Thanks for understanding! (: |

@NSLove I understand. Rules are rules. Some of them are just ridiculous & illogical. I mean, I still love Wattpad. It's a great place for everyone to share their stories. I don't think it's wrong to tell others about your stories. I don't think the SYS should be the only place where you tell about your story. Not much of reaching out there. There could be more interaction and free choice if there weren't so many rules. I think it would be better if Wattpad just allow wattpaders some space to breathe more and tell ther stories anywhere without some wattpader responding them to be kicked out. Pretty unfair, eh? Heck, the world's unfair. I understand. I still respect the Wattpad rules, but this is just my opinion I hold as a Wattpad member. |

@mythinkingbox I agree with you! I mean, where's the bad thing on telling someone to read his story when he has some free time? It doesn't sound mean or rude if you have tell it kindly. And if it is in a story comment, then you can write your review and your opinions for the story, and in the end, if the author can take a look at your story. At least in stories that the authors allow people to do that. That's just my opinion of course. I understand rules, and if wattpad wants it to stay like that, then it's their business. I'm just telling what I think about this whole thing. |

@AgentGalini After you uploaded your first chapter, go to My Works. It's in the drop down menu in the orange part, where you name is (hover over it and you will see it) or click on the big Upload in the black part. There, at the right side you will see "manage cover new chapter delete story". Click on upload and you can pick a cover you have saved on your computer. |

Are there moderators on the forums? And if they there are, how do you know that they are mods and just not other members. |

@Allysmurfy Only moderators have the access of "closing a thread." So if a user says that the thread is "illegal" for example, vote trading is taking place, then the moderator will say I will close this discussion and you can go to the Share Your Story Club. After that, if the thread is closed, then that user was a moderator. Sometimes our users end their comment with "Ambassador ____." Don't worry, our Wattpad Volunteer Coordinator has the list of all moderators and checks on every club/forum. |

@NSLove Oh, so you volunteer to be a moderator? What's it like? I've done it on a few sites myself, but none as large a Wattpad. |

@Allysmurfy Depending on how big the words are that you use, it's around 900-1,000 words per page. |
