Never got into Eragon, finished Eldest, liked it but felt no urge to continue. Got into Age of Fire (Dragon Champion and Dragon Outcast and so on.) however which is coming to an end in Dec which I look forward to and dread. |

@Sekkan That is a good point to remember. Making them too epic, too invincible would be boring. I’m going a somewhat different route with my dragons. I’m redefining and reclassifying. I have the dragainmhí (the ainmhí is Gaelic for animal), which are the pure beast, and my adaptive dragons with two forms. To facilitate their transformational abilities I’m giving them biological immortality—meaning a stable rate of mortality as a function of chronological age. Their dead/dying cells are continuously, and rapidly, replaced—they do not deteriorate with age. Once prime is reached, they do not begin the decline. Regeneration after injury is quick, so only a severe, continuous assault or disease will kill them. I guess it’s soft fantasy in taking previously existing themes and adding a dash of scientific plausibility. I will use little in the way of traditional magic. The red dragons call fire by secreting a flammable discharge from glands in the throat, and vibrating cells ignite the fluid (heat is the vibrations of atoms in space, after all—the faster they vibrate, the greater the heat). My blacks are venomous… etc. So, given my scientific lean they will have limitations by necessity of increasing their nutrition intake and low stamina without doing so. Sound good to you? |

@Creatlach Sounds good. I suppose the last things I'd ask are- 1. Do they have scales and if so how protective are they? 2. How big are they? Bigger means eats more and easier to hit but harder to kill. Also limits what they have access to if they can't shift. 3. When can they fly? Is it quickly or are they mature dragons before they can fly? |

I've always been intrigued by dragons even when I was little. I watched dragons movies like... Ah man I forgot the name of it! But it had Draco in it (the dragon's name) and it was medieval times and it actually liked humans... I also have a dragon necklace but I've always wanted to draw them. Recently, I just wrote a story about dragons that eventually leads to shape shifting which will be explained later in the book that I'm writing and its recently on Wattpad even. Lol. |

@thunderheart15 Dragon Heart is the movie I believe. The knight gets stuck in the dragon's (Draco) mouth for a while in a stalemate is a memorable scene. |

What's the strangest dragon you've read about? (On a side note, Warcraft may not appeal to many as a game but the dragons in it have more story than anyone else. I go to WoWiki (or something) every now and again just to catch up on the current storyline. Just google, Deathwing or Alexstrasza to find the site and the links alone will keep you going for days, if you're interested or bored enough.) |

Yeah the dragons are always up to something. Some of my favorite characters are- Deathwing- He's the main antagonist at the moment. He was the keeper of the earth until evil gods got in his head and drove him crazy then crippled betrayed the other dragon leaders in hopes to kill or enslave them in an attempt to make the blacks the superior dragon race, His motives have decreased with his sanity and he come to the point where he just wants to see everyone dead. Hence Deathwing. Onyixa (a black dragon and Deathwings daughter) She kidnapped the human king and left him to die (he didn't) then disguised herself as a noble lady in his kingdom and played politics, slowly built up tensions in hopes of starting a civil war while replacing other nobles with her children as well. You also have the Bronzes who patrol time and their unnatural rivals the Infinites who try to bend time to their advantage. The Greens who look after the emerald dream ( a dream world) which has been corrupted and so on. The Wiki isn't the best way to get the story but might better than the books. (Day of the Dragon, etc.) All this ranting makes me want to do a dragon story, Must resist. |

Dragons are awesome! All of them. Has anyone one seen the Never Ending Story? Horrible movie. Like worst ever. There is a dragon with fur instead of scales (and he's still a reptile?) and he acts like a lap dog. That is exactly how I think dragons should NOT be! It was a disgrace to dragons everywhere. |

Skeletal dragons are my favorites. still fire breathing, scarier, and practically invincible. |

I really like dragon books, though the "popular" books today are all about Vampires and Werewolves/shifters. One of my favorite dragon book is "Dragon Bait." |

I love Dragons so much that I created a realm of them in my Fantasy story.., though at the chapter I posted here in Wattpad, did not show any of the dragon yet.., and in fact, the dragon i have is to be the partner of my main character on his quests,, |
