Basically, I'm starting a new book and I want some ideas on which time period I should set it in. I know a lot about romans and the middle ages but I want to know what you think would be a more interesting time period to write in out of all of them. FFeel free to name any big events that you think it should be the time of. Thanks x |

I absolutely love the Baroque Era (bad spelling on that), the Regency Era in England, and the Civil War. Oh, and World War Two! I love romance:) |

I love the Medieval period the most, but I'm also rather fond of anything older than that. I'm also fond of anything about anicent Japanese events and mythology. |

I love the Roaring 20's, anything colonial, or stories that are set place during a war that's being fought (like New York during WWII) but I also love mythology.... especially Greek mythology. |

@EmolonRed during the american revolution, civil war, or my favorite.... 1909-1910 or 1911. why? 1909/10 was the uprising of 20,000 shirtwaist workers at Triangle Shirtwaist Companies. their strike took place during that time, they were beat up by thugs and prostitutes- just for peacefully striking, many were thrown in jail. in 1911 one factory on Greene Street in new york finally settled, giving the workers their conditions. But on March 25th that same year, a fire broke out- nobody knows how. young women and girls jumped out of nine story windows and crumpled to the ground. there was only one fire escape, which twisted and fell from the weight of the workers. firemen's ladders couldn't even REACH to the 7th and above floors, and when people jumped to the nets, they broke through and smashed into the concrete! 146 people died and if you'd like to find out more, here's a link... http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/trianglefire/story/introduction.html i am also writing a story about this right now, and i'd love it if you'd check it out! its called "The Fire That Changed My Life: The Story of Clara Peters" sorry the comment is so long! |

@musicalsweets I agree, medievel period is definitely a favourite of mind, or before, especially when combined with a fantasy plot. I also like stories set in the Victorian era, particularly in England. |
