    The Granny Rule

    ...

This rule trumps all others. Generally, try not to post anything that you wouldn't say in front of your own Granny. Also, avoid debates about people's opinion on religion and politics or anything that can be viewed as hostile or overtly offensive towards other users.

Q1) I'm a girl. Can I come into the pub?

    A) Yes! The Pub is not just for boys. It's for girls too! But there are a lot of girls on Wattpad and not many boys. This is where the boys can come hang out and talk about topics that interest them. Please remember this when you post discussions in The Pub.

Q2) Can I just go ahead and post the first thing that pops into my head?

    A) No! There are lots of clubs on Wattpad. If you think there's a more appropriate club for your chosen topic of discussion, go post it there first. If you think the discussion will fit with the general pub ethos, post it here. If you're not sure, see Q3.

    See also, the Granny Rule!

Q3) Should I 'lurk moar' before I post in The Pub?

    A) Yes. Check out what other people are talking about before you start a new discussion so you have some idea what does and doesn't fit here.

Q4) Can I promote my epic new story here?

    A) No. That's what the Share Your Story Club is for.

Q5) Can I promote somebody else's epic story here?

    A) No. That's what Undiscovered Gems is for.

Q6) Can I talk about books that interest me or Wattpad stories that interest me without providing links and so long as they aren't my books or stories?

    A) Yes. But seriously, no links ok.

Q7) The Pub seems to be a place guys hang out. Can I post discussions asking guys what makes them tick?

    A) You can try, but you might get trolled as topics about feelings make the boys uncomfortable. Instead just try starting normal conversations with the men of the Pub. Maybe you'll find out what makes them tick that way.

Q8) The Pub still seems to be a place guys hang out. Can I post discussions asking guys their opinion of girls?

    A) This has been done before and these threads have proven quite popular, so probably.

Q9) My mom met my dad in a pub. Does that mean I can ask for cyber-girlfriends or boyfriends in here?

    A) No.

    Q10) Can I get a beer?

    A) Sure. But avoid the complimentary peanuts. They've been hanging around a while.
