User's Guide to Wattpad

Hi i'm new to wattpad and I wanted to know if you guys generate e-books or if I could copy then paste the stories I'm reading in a notepad so that i wouldn't have to be connected to the internet all the time. Or if there is any other way I could read the stories without having to connect to the internet like being able to save the stories in my hard drive and stuff..

Just recently joined. I'm trying out this writing thing you have going on here at Wattpad. How can you tell how many pages you've written and how do you distinguish between chapters before you upload? thanks

Hi I'm new to wattpad and i was asking how do you know how many pages you've written in the chapter before posting it , it bugs me for example say i have in mind 7 pages for a chapter and i keep writing. and when i upload it,it turns out to be 3 wattpad pages . and i tried to use the Microsoft word first so it can tell me how many pages i wrote then i upload. but discovered that wattpad has another measuring. i really need an indication to know were i stand . if you know a trick that would be great. thank you

@Gleetioner9133 just get a picture in a site then do the editing stuff (I suggest in Photobucket.com) then save it to your computer then go to "My Works" then click "cover" and browse then choose the one you edit then there you have a cover :)) Hope I helped ^_^

@Jillsvalentine I don't think so but you could open their facebook account, just click the facebook logo in their profile (here in watty) then there you could see their facebook account and add them. Here in wattpad you don't refer them as friends like facebook it is called Fans. :)) hope I helped

@Charmerchan I'm afraid there's no way to use Wattpad offline, as that would be breaching the copyright of users' stories.

@Vapurr I believe it is 5000 characters per page. And it is you, and only you, who can decide where one chapter starts and where one ends. It is your story after all.

@ThassiaSalvatierra All of your questions will be answered, you just need to be patient. You can copy a story onto Wattpad, but you can't copy one from it. This is for legal reasons.

@Zeldav2 Do you own this picture? If not, then using it is illegal. No two ways about it.

Of course, if it is copyright/royalty free, then you may be able to use it. But other than that, it's a big no. If you don't know if an image is copyrighted or not...assume that it is.

@Jillsvalentine We don't have a friends system, only a fanning system. Are you familiar with it?

@Gleetioner9133 First of all, you'll need a base image. You could start from scratch, but this is extremely difficult and not even professionals do that.

The base image can be a photograph you've taken yourself, or a copyright free (and it must be copyright free) image from the internet. I'd advise searching for stock images on Deviant Art, but make sure that the artist gives permission for the pictures use.

Now, you'll need an image editor. If you have a load of money to spare, then you could get Photoshop. Or, you could download Paint.net or the GIMP. I use paint.net, modified with several plugins.

A book cover should be about 400x256 pixels, and either a .gif file or a .jpeg file. I'd say use .jpeg, they're much higher quality. Use the image editor, and as many images to put your book cover together. I hope this helps.

@Princessekokiebookie Using microsoft word to tell you how many Wattpad pages you've made is not a good idea. Because everything, from font size, to type face to line spacing to paragraph intendation will change the result for everyone.

If i'm not mistaken, a full Wattpad page is 5000 characters
