"Oh really?" Cartilos sneered, turning to me suddenly, his blood-red eyes flared as tore his right sleeve away, revealing a huge burned hole embedded on it. "Did you see what he did to me?" he snarled.

I gulped. "That's not true."

"Naive child, now I have to clean up after what you've started." He ravished, walking closer towards me, locking his blood-red eyes onto my watery golden ones, "Listen," he said, "No one can know our existence. We are, after all," he adds as his voice drop into a dangerous whisper,

"Vampires."
