OK... Although the OP did ask if we have any GOOD torture methods. Now I'm assuming the OP was aksing if we had written such methods because it would be silly if the OP was asking if there are some torture methods that I enjoy doing for real...

so I've posted a part of a chapter in my story that I though was a GOOD torture method.

I just wanted to say torture shouldnt be so complicated... it should be mean. it should be easy. and it should hurt.

@RichardStaschy - the forums are for discussion, not slapping on an advert because your story might contain a bit of torture that you think the OP might like.

Your post had no mention of discussion, and you can talk about the semantics of correct English language as long as you like old son, it was an advert...

If you wanted to say that it shouldn't be complicated they say it, talk, discuss, that's what the forums are for rather than trying to entice someone to slap a vote on your work.

@SillyGIRL888 Would you be interested in old, medieval torture methods to get inspired? I've heard many of nowadays' methods are actually inspired in the good old times. Those methods can always be adapted to this era. =)

@SillyGIRL888 There are some really spooky torture methods which are used now in the modern day. For example, there's the Chinese Water torture. A person is tied down to a bench, and water is dripped slowly but continually onto the victim. Eventually, it is meant to drive the victim insane. There's also waterboarding - I don't know the specifics, but it was used in the Alex Rider series.

@SillyGIRL888 When I'm too lazy to actually think anything up (which is most of the time) I look up different torture methods and then combine and modify them until I come up with something creative that fits my story. I guess this isn't super helpful but it works.

@SillyGIRL888 here is one that randomly popped into my head as i was lurking in this thread...

victim is tied to bed. needles are tied to strings attached to ceiling so they are directly over victim inches from contact then the scary person cuts strings one by one while victim watches. stage two: then maggots are forced into the wounds and sewn shut for good measure and the sake of slowly being eaten alive from the inside out now i just have to think of a name for it.........

@SillyGIRL888 What about crucifixion... Romans did it to intimidate possible enemies of the state... Case in point... Jesus...

But aside from the Romans, the Nazi also used crucifixion on the Jews in their death camps... Only it was a bit different from the Romans... Instead of outstretching and lashing their arms over a crossbar and pinning their hands with nails, the Nazis pulled their arms BACKWARDS until their shoulders get dislocated... Then they lash their hands together, and string them up on a pole... They would leave them hanging their until they died of axphyxiation...

@neverglade May I point out a flaw in your torture method? I don't mean to sound smart, but usually maggots only feed on already dead flesh. Thus, the victim would not be eaten from the inside out. Usually, if maggots do eat living flesh, it is to leave their "prison", like the Botfly. I have done a tiddly bit of reasearch for you, though, and have found that if one were to place Army Ants into the wounds the victim would go through tremendous pain as the army ants bite the flesh, releasing toxins. If one were to be stung by a Japanese Hornet, their flesh would dissolve. If one were to be sealed in human skin, I suppose it would be capable of causing massive damage... From the small bit of research I have done, there are no insects that feast on living human flesh. Only on dead flesh. I hope this helps.

I think you should just keep removing body parts. Fingernails, toes, teeth, ears, other appendages. Nice and simple.

Or you could make them watch reality television for seven days straight.

Torture is a well discussed concept, if you would like I could reccomend Higurashi No naru koro ni, Which is an anime from japan. It has beautiful murders here and there. My fave is still wataganashi, where they ripped a person's guts out like they're plowing a field with a rake. If you do it more carefully with say a knife, and cauterize wounds, the person won't die so easily.

A teacher of mine was also showing supposed WW2 torture methods, which included several interesting ones that are viable, but gender specific for maximum effect.

Males: A triangular wooden block with a BLUNT tip(You don't want him to bleed to death, you want to crush his testicles) something like this -^- and the prisioner would be seated on it. Ball and chans would be attached to the prisioner's legs but will NOT touch the ground, so the person is dragged downwards. My brother said it would hurt a lot, i have no idea since imma girl.

Females: Stripped naked, put in a cloth sack with lots of rats and a starved cat. The joy.

Of course, there are general ones, which includes forcing a lot of water into the body through the mouth, causing the person to become bloated. When the stoamch visibly expands, hold the person's arms, head and legs down and JUMP ON THE STOMACH. This will force the water back up the gullet and out through the nose, ears, eyes and mouth. The best part is that this was a PROVEN method used in WW2.

There is this traditional method of course, but it will guranteed kill the person. Tie each limb to a horse facing different directions, and whip them all at the same time. They will run in four directions and rip the person apart. if im not wrong its referred to as 四马难追.

Also, this was considered an HONOUR in china, which may be familiar to those who study chinese history. Enuches. The job scope of an enuch was to care for the kings thousand or so wives, but they were not to give in to sexual temptations. To prevent this, a feather was removed of the fur, and cut on both ends, heated to kill germs and stuck into their penis, creating a tube from which urine can pass through. It is ridiculously painful, and most will die of urine poisioning or infection when they refuse to wee due to the pain.

Which brings us to a new point! Starve a person for 3 days, then eat a nice meal in front of him, make sure he can smell but can't eat. He'll go crazy.
