So basically I kinda want to know the diffrence between the two and if you could recommend the best of the best (published, not Wattpad) that you know for me to read either a thriller or a horror. Thanks. |

Horror is the type to make someone scared, jump from their skin with fright, and utterly afraid to look out their window DURING THE DAY. .... Thriller is more like an intense suspenseful waiting... it's like waiting for something bad to happen and always expecting it to, then when it does that's when you least expect it. It's constantly being on edge, cause you know you're part of something dangerous... but you can't turn back... At least that's my shortened version of it. I started a thriller a while back you can tell me what you think of it so far. |

@CelticMemories That was a perfect condensed version of explaining it. Thanks. And yeah I would love to read your book and check it out :) |

@Jessica370 Cool. [: Glad it was a good enough explanation. I tend to make my stories very 'horror' like when they're not labeled horror. And it shocks people. O.O Lol. |

@Jessica370 - I've edited your post slightly as I don't want this turning into a thread where people endlessly spam you with adverts for their stories. If you want a good horror that really gets you checking under the bed before you go to sleep, I'd recommend anything by Lovecraft or Poe, and World War Z by Max Brooks. All good stuff. |

@Jessica370 Another thing that I would mention on Horror vs. Thriller is that with Horror you experience some paranoia, where youre constantly expecting something bad to happen when you dont want it to. You're constantly figuring out awful things, scary things, that you wouldnt typically find in any other genre. Thriller, even though it has the same feeling as paranoia, isnt typically scary. Most of the time, while books can be catagorized as 'horror' by itself, Thrillers are usually grouped with another genre. Sometimes, I catagorize horror and thriller together. A good Horror story is 'The Forest of Hands and Teeth'. |

@ravenende Oh ok thanks that makes sense. Does that book have to do anything with a murder by any chance. Hmm it sounds familiar. |

Yeah, thriller is suspense, and horror is scary but they usually go together because without suspense before the scene of terror, it wouldn't be that horrific, and that's where thriller comes in. You know? :) |

@Jessica370 if you merge horror and thriller, that will come out to a lil gore :) If you are writing a paranormal story, then go with horror. If you like twists and cliff hangers, then go with thriller. |
