Idk why writers don't choose the correct genres - and I completely agree with you! Werewolves & Vampires could have a fantasy-isque touch to it ( I never doubt the reaches of the imagination) but then vamp/wolf should definitely be one of the main genres. If you come across mis-categorizations, please PM or post the link to me and I'll take a closer look at the work and speak with the author! Myztikal ;) |

finally someone who understands.I'm so tired of seeing vampire stories take over the fantasy section it's just makes no sense. They have their section they refuse to use it. I want pure fantasy, not twilight with elves or whatever these people are putting out. |

Use the @WPNinja profile page or tag me in a message if you ever see it. I'll be happy to look into it. In my decades' years of being on the net, though, peer pressure from the general public was usually more effective than the mods or admins. Once the "everyday" user would post to people what they would and would not accept, it had more of an impact. Otherwise, the usual response I would get is-"No one is telling me to stop or they don't like it, so what makes you Goddess?" kind of response. Does that make sense? But please feel free to let me know of problems you run across so they can be addressed appropriately :) |

@OmniChris What you could do is report them. Under the report button another page pops up and asks the reason why you want to report them. One of the choices is wrong category. I agree with you though. Even though technically vampire is fantasy, Wattpad has a specific category for vamps and werewolf stories. Anyway, hope this helps! |

I think that fantasy is a pretty broad spectrum... That's why there are sub-sectioned. Fantasy/romance, Fantasy/vampire, Fantasy/werewolf and so on. So it's still in the right section..... technically. Though why they have a sub-section under fantasy for Vampire and then a section dedicated soley to vampire is also a bit backwards... I think they should simple all come under fantasy. |

Werewolves are not fantasy they're horror. Some fantasies may Use them as a evil lbeing but they are not the prime focus. That is why there is Fantasy Horror. Then you have Dark Fantasy, which is where the Vampire-Werewolf stories are about the Vampire-Werewolf. So all in all @Jamilla You are right about one thing Werewolves, vampires and such are in fantasies BUT they are not the main characters, or even secondary characters they are usually quick and dead characters. |

@OmniChris I completely agree with you - there's a vampire genre for a reason! I don't want to go onto Fantasy and see vampires clogging up the feed. I have nothing against them but if I wanted to read a book that's predominantly about vampires, i'd go through that genre. *Sigh* I think people should categorise better, Wattpad should be tougher on people who label incorrectly and they should introduce more categories. I.E. "Drama" and (for those of you who think vampires and werewolf should be in the fantasy) "DARK Fantasy" |
