Hey, thanks for clicking on this discussion! These recommendations are about real publish books, not Wattpad stories. Each book will have a sentence or so but you may comment to hear more about it. 1. Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce: suspenseful, scary, and romantic. A fairy tale with a twist and action-pack story of sisters, wolves, and love. 2.Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly: suspense, drama, and action. A original tale with angels being more evil than vampires. First book to a trilogy. 3.City of Bones by Cassandra Clare: funny, suspense, action, mysterious, and romantic. Book one of the Mortal Instruments. A story with warriors dedicated to killing demons and keeping werewolves and vampires in line. 4. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa: suspense, mythical, action, and romantic Book one of the Iron Fey series. A story with a girl having a secret destiny, not one about finding true love, stars shining for her, and a handsome prince carrying her off into the sunset. 5. Divergent by Veronica Roth: epic action, memorable, suspense, and romantic. A girl having one choice to decide friends, what her beliefs are, and determining her loyalties. All the recommendations have the same thing in common: female heroines that fights and gets involve with true love. I have more recommendations if these books don't satisfy. |

@Anchorsaweigh yeah, I have more suggestions. Graceling by Kristin Cashore: fantasy, romantic, and action. A story with people born with often-feared skills called Graces, the main girl character struggles for redemption from her own Grace of killing, and teams up with another fighter to save their land from a cruel king. The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa: same author of the Iron Fey series. fiction, romantic, and action. A story in the future where vampires rule, humans are their blood cattle, and one girl searching for the key to save humanity. Wither by Lauren Destefano: science fiction and romantic. A story of a modern science turning every human into a genetic time bomb with men dying at age 25 and women dying at age 20, girls are kidnapped and married off in order to repopulate the world. The Maze Runner by James Dasnher: action, horror, suspense, and somewhat romantic. First book in a series. A story of a boy put into the Glade, a large expanse surrounded by stone walls, with other boys too. The boys don't know why they are in the Glade and a girl arrives for the first time and has a message. The main boy character has dark buried secrets about getting out of the Glade that everyone wants. Maze Runner is a book with a hero instead of a heroine but a great book. Wither isn't really an action book but the main character is a girl. I hope these recommendations helped. |

If you like those, Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series is great and also Holly Black's Good Neighbor Graphic Novels. Oh and Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy. |

@WannabeAuthor14 Hey, I've been looking for some good books to read recently and your recommendations definitely sound very interesting! I'm just wondering though, as most of those books do involve some kind romance, which ones involve bad-boy good-girl romances? Or something with a feisty heroine and a tough male love interest? (Sorry, I'm just a sucker for those kinda things :P) |

@Dan_ishere for starters, Divergent is a type of romance that has a feisty heroine and a tough male love. At first the main girl character may seem the weak one at first but she gets feisty and the male is totally tough by my opinion from reading. |

@Dan_ishere Another "girl feisty and tough male" romance books is Graceling and Iron King. In Graceling, the main girl character is definitely a heroine but more on "doing tasks for a ruler that involves killing or knocking out someone else" type. The tough male is like a ninja I think so. I have to say this story has twists. In Iron King, the story is on a fey side so the main girl character becomes brave as a heroine. I really like the tough male character name Puck but there is another male character so I hope you know what that means...love triangle. I have to say this book made me want to buy the rest of the series (yes there is more than one of the storyline) . |

@WannabeAuthor14 Cool, I might have a look at Divergent and Graceling. I hate hate hate love triangles, so I think I'd give Iron King a pass. Thanks for the recommendations! |

I loved Sisters Red, and I liked the Divergent series as well as the City series by Cassandra Clare. I have 5 suggestions, though they all are definitely different from each other: 1) Dreamland - Sarah Dessen This book is one of my favourites, for the way Sarah deals with the subject of abuse in teen relationships. I love the way it started off so well, and you had hopes for the main characters and then one event seemed to let off this downward spiral. A story about love and letting go. 2) A Song for Summer - Eva Ibbotson Another favourite of mine. A romance novel published in 1997, set in both pre and post wartime conditions. 3) Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin Well, where do I start the description with this book? I suppose I'd call it a kind of medieval fantasy, but a brilliantly described one at that. Beware, it starts off a little slow and confusing but as you go on things will get clearer and make more sense. It's well worth it. 4) Chaos Walking series - Patrick Ness If you haven't read these 3 books, you need to. Set in a dystopian world where all living creatures can hear each other's thoughts via a stream of images, words, and sounds called noise. I can pretty much sum up the series in one line, and maybe the best line in the books. "The Noise is a man unfiltered, and without a filter, a man is just chaos walking." 5) The Sally Lockhart Quartert - Phillip Pullman Historical thrillers, old fashion Victorian blood and gore can sum up these four books. Romance, mystery and revenge - Phillip Pullman is a genius. 6) His Dark Materials - Phillip Pullman Did I mention this man was a genius? His Dark Materials are a trilogy of fantasy novels that follow two coming-of-age children as they wander through parallel universes whilst managing to take part in the epic events that follow. These. Books. Are. Amazing. |

Been a long time since I BUMP this discussion. ~New Recommendations~ 1. Trylle Trilogy by Amanda Hocking [First book] SWITCHED, [Second book] TORN, and [Third book] ASCEND:Seventeen-year-old Wendy Everly has always been different, but she never thought she was more than human. However, when she’s thrown into a world unlike any she’s ever imagined, Wendy must uncover her heritage, tap into her powers, and fight against those who want to use her gifts for evil. Enter a world of magic, mystery, and romance in Amanda Hocking’s bestselling young adult series that takes readers to Trylle, a world as beautiful as it is deadly. Torn between worlds, Wendy must decide who she really is and what she wants, between love and duty, in a struggle for her very survival. 2. Hush, hush series by Becca Fitzpatrick Summary of first book: A sacred oath a fallen angel a forbidden love. Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment. But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel. For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life. |
