So my story involved the greek gods, and im wondering if anyone has any feedback about them? Do we like? Do we hate? Im keeping alot of it according to the history, but how much can i make-up and change without destroying it.... lol |

@Snowgirl91 The trick about using Greek gods is that they're so familiar. Vary from what's known, without letting the reader know first, and you'll get complaints. It's also hard to be original; familiarity means they've been used in stories before. What I did for one of my Surgard fantasy/humor stories was change the names around. The names of the gods were Greek-sounding but different. Hope that helps. |

@Snowgirl91 if you want to keep the history without making up your own, just fill in the blanks to give them stories. no one knows their personalities or what they do in their spare time, they are still blank characters in many ways. i like the subject, but as with all writing no matter the topic, if it is going to be well recieved it must be well written. even if you write something boring but do it well and people will still read it. |

Thank you both so much =D it's given me alot to think about! Ive used mostly facts (well as factual as one can be with so many different interpretations) But I guess ive filled in the blanks as you say @IndigoV with my own ideas and such. I'd like to have a read of your book thou @RobertLCollins =D to get an idea of what you mean by different names! Sounds interesting!! |
