Ever find yourself wishing you had a fireplace that could teleport you to school when you're running late? Or a certain gold ring that could turn you invisible when things got akward (beware of the side effects however). Or maybe a certain golden compass that could tell you the truth about anything? Or even just a magical basin you can put all you worst nightmares and bad memories into? Which magical item do you find yourself wanting the most regularily. Not the one you need the most or find the coolest. For me it is Rita Skeeter's journal from harry potter. I wish I had a flying notepad that could take notes for me in english class and when ever a thought pops into my head that I have to jot down. That and the golden compass from the His dark materials series. I'd use it for looking up facts. |

From Harry Potter I'd say Hermione's Time Turner, I've always wondered what the past was really like. But that's a hard one, I'll probably comment again when I think of something better. |

Okay, since the Time Turner has been taken... I'll go for the Deluminator which Dumbledore left for Ron in his will. It would be great to summon light when i needed it for reading after the parentals have gone to bed but also something that will lead me back to something that I have lost! |

@LondonToTokyo I would have to go with Hermione's enchanted bag from the seventh book. I would say a wand, but as a muggle I wouldn't be able to use it :( |

Or the double headed fox/kitsune key from The Vampire Diaries that opens any door in this world or the Dark Demension |

@Calyban That bag is a good idea, it would solve my school bag problem; I can never find one big enough. Or when you go on holiday, that would be fun to pass through customs at the airport! @MyCraft ! I probably would need to use the deluminator more than the key, I am always loosing something. An other thing that would be great is the book for the novel Ella Enchanted that gives you information about anything you want and shows you pictures of what people are up to. |

I just thought of another one, the flying carpet in Arabian Nights. I'm perpetually late everywhere I go so the carpet would be great and fun, granted it doesn't rain. :P And I'm surprised no one said the invisibility cloak! You could be a world class creep with that one haha! |

@LondonToTokyo I'd go for Annabeth's New York Yankees invisibility cap from Percy Jackson and the Olympians :) |

I would love to have a time machine from just about any story that has a time machine! It would be cool to go back in time, if only to warn myself about a few things :-p Otherwise from a historical perspective how cool would it be to WATCH stonehenge or the pyramids get built? Meeting a dinosaur, running with the cavemen, etc |

@LondonToTokyo I would say that Greek mythology counts as a story so a magical object from there...wow so many amazing things...but if I had to shorten it down... Maybe Apollo's bow which can cause health or famine and death in sleep. (Obviously I'd only make people healthy...if I could use the bow that is). And maybe Poseidon's Chariot of the Sea. Hopefully he'd allow me to borrow it. :) |
