@Hardy_Boyz Thanks for your lengthy response. You are doing it on purpose, aren't you? Didn't we have a discussion about this before? lol

First of all...socialism doesn't necessarily lead to communism. Not in case people are free to chose whether to belong to the system or not. You are brought up believing socialism and communism are evil. They are not. They are just a different world view.

I attended church sporadically in my youth, just to please my grandparents. So I wasn't brought up Christian. All my values are simply Dutch. I never really got into the religion thing because I didn't understand why people needed to believe in a fictional God to find warmth and comfort together. My family and friends provide that for me without me having to belief in something which might be well a lie.

I regret that you lost hope in your fellow human beings and need to group them into believers and non-believers that are in a perpetual war. I think you see the world too black and white. We are the results of our genetics and experience, in everybody there is good and evil. We are all shades of grey, and will always be like that, even if we do convert. Receiving the holy spirit doesn't make you a saint.

Thank you for sharing your life story with me. I love R&R music (and drinking...no other drugs any more though...well except for those rare instances) and too bad you feel that it was necessary to quite this. I personally think that people are more interesting if they have both a good and a bad streak in them. You just need to avoid certain crowds (although they are interesting to observe) and make sure you are still having fun. :)

@vanitycat Bless your heart, I can see where you are coming from. But you should have been around in Kentucky in about 1803, when 20,000 people would camp out for day after day of preaching. If you think Hardy Boyz is verbose, it's because we have become so accustomed to sitcoms that last a hour max, movies that wind things up in less than two hours. In Peter Cartwright's autobiography, when his turn to speak, it was for two hours. Now, to the spurious charge of The Hardy Boyz Bible, that's nonsense! Now he himself will tell you that he and I have had disagreements on another forum. But he us not making up his own scripture. I am not coming down on you if you do not recognize scripture per se. But give him some slack if you yourself cannot distinguish between what is his own testimony and what comes from scripture. I haven't seen him making things up -- on spite of his long statements.

@TerryP Thank you Terry for your blessing. Hang on, you were around in 1803? Tell me your secret to long life? Did you make a pact with the Dark one? Sadly the nearest I've been to Kentucky is KFC. Sadly I suffer from a short attention span, a standard attribute for the TV generation, which in turn has affected my memories on religion.

For instance the Adam and Eve, Eve ate an apple, Adam ate an apple... and Ross and Rachel broke up. What was that about? I mean werent they destined for each other?

Sad times. Anyway as I was saying.... How can you justify the world is flat? resting upon the backs of 4 elephants? Which in turn rest upon the shell of a giant tortoise? HOW?

@vanitycat Gee willikers! Couldn't you at least get it right about how we get it wrong in the Bible? Take that Apple, for instance. That's all made up. Yeah. There's no mention of one in the Adam and Eve story! Okay, now to the tortises. There's no way in Sheol that the Hebrews would have portrayed a ritually unclean animal as holding up the earth. Couldn't you have taken all those angels they used to debate could dance on the head of a needle and used them? If Hannibal had been nice enough to have invaded Palestine, maybe there would be elephants in the Bible. Well, we couldn't afford 'em, anyway. All we could afford was the Leviathan, but there was only one. And he was auditioning for Melville's book. If you wish to ask about the Whale, there isn't one swallowing Jonah. Where on earth do you get the idea that the world is flat? Remember Startrek's trivia? "The world is hollow, and I have touched the sky." The sky (firnament) in the Bible is a solid vault. Windows opened to allow rain. Above the firnament were waters. Below the earth were waters. Hmmm. KFC. Colonel Sanders came from Corbin, KY. Maybe my grandad net him. Anyway, enjoy the thing you got right in your critique. As for how long is long, the Bible doesn't say we all got started in 4,004 B.C. That's something concocted by Archbishop Usher of the Church of England. Relative to the worry the astronomers cause us about when the Sun's going supernova, our ages don't mean two bobs' difference. The only food I can recommend for any of us given to taking ourselves too seriously is humble pie.

I find it rather interesting that writers on Wattpad join a “Spiritual Chat Club” only to scoff at the foundation that it was created on...which is God. We can not see God so we enter into a realm of spirituality. His word (which was written down by man) says that He (God) IS spiritual. People write in on a Satanist chat thread and further claim that there is no Satan either? People claim that they have “PROOF” there is no God yet they lack the evidence to back up their claim? I do not claim to have proof. My only hope is that I can give you something to think about.

@vanitycat I have tried to attach bible verses (known as Gods word) so that you are not hearing a lot of Hardy Boyz chatter but actual words from God…I have read the negative comments and not only that, I remember in my own life, how my minds eye would skip over (reading) anything that looked like a bible verse. I dismissed it entirely. I realize that when I write to you about God, Jesus & The Holy Spirit…I can sound as dry as a 90 year old religious preacher standing up in front of the congregation for the millionth time or I can add “life” & “love” to my writings, which in turn will stimulate your spirit and give you something to think about and digest for a while. Jesus spoke in parables because the mind is created to use imaginations within ourselves to paint a picture of understanding for us. As a writer; If I spoke to you of my Red, 1966 Ford Mustang sitting in my garage…your mind will begin to imagine that picture. I have given you enough details for you to imagine an accurate picture. If I spoke to you (simply) about my house…you might imagine a picture of your house. It is how the spirit of the mind operates. As a (novice) writer, I am inspired to add details to provide the reader with an accurate picture. I do not expect everyone to read all of my messages. I wrote to Dr.Devil because I care about her. I chose to write about my experiences rather than flood her with bible scriptures that most likely wouldn’t produce life for her because of her own rejection for God. So, I put a human element to my story. I don’t want for my writings to be about me. I want to share the love of Jesus but as most pastors know (& I am NOT a pastor) but as they know, you have to share with people where you came from…you have to put a human element into sharing. God Bless You…

@vanitycat p.s. I like the Homer Simpson cartoon...I must say however If a person (like Homer) runs into church one day (after living his whole life without God) thinks that he can simply open up the Bible and find answers there...He wont. You need to find God first. God is the one who supplies the answers. They are written in the bible but God makes it alive in your spirit. Yes, the bible does hold answers but it is God who were are looking for, once we find God...He reveals the answers. Homer will never find answers by looking in the bible. It is not how the bible is designed.

@drDevil Wow! You mean that you and @vanity are kindred "spirits," sort of? Too bad I'm not in KY, where you leave your shoes at the border. Now, we don't have Gordon's Gin, Johnny Walker, Guiness Sout, or even Heinekens(sp?). That's what the missionaries go for. We got Jim Beam, Glenmore, Medley, and Old Grandad. If you prefer something to put you under the table, you just gotta know the right farm house. Our Moonshine distilled in remote hollers will put you on your butt as fast as the best West African Cane Juice. I suppose we owe the serpent in the Garden (or the Devil if you will), or at least the presence of evil or life's trials for his everlasting contribution to Literature. In a way, Christa, you're very right. Even in Milton's Paradise Lost Satan appeals to his defeated colleagues that repentance meant singing all those hymns again. So in a way we do the Devil homage in a sense. For it seems the Bad Guy always gets the Best Lines. Except in his attempt to tempt Jesus. He came in second best then. One other time for sure. When "the Devil went down to Georgia," his ability to play the violin like hell was not enough to win.

@drDevil Hello, regarding socialism & communism…I was not brought up to think that they are evil. No, I was brought up in a free country where I only knew freedom. I grew up believing that I could do anything in life that I wanted. So, I did. I have worked in many fields doing many things (trying on many different hats if you will.) I now operate in my own business. Am I an evil capitalist? No, but I do thank God for the freedom I have. I further, shake the hands of every veteran I meet and I support various veteran charities. After I received the Holy Spirit, He began to teach me how "man" gains control over fellow man (via evil influences.) The bible teaches about this too, which in turns, shows me that God wants us to be a “free people.” God used Moses to lead some 6 million people out of slavery. The average person today is fairly enslaved & caught up in a system that allows little freedom.

Cont> Regarding the love & support you get from your family & friends…Is that a crutch? People here on Wattpad say that my belief in God is a crutch but I am in God’s family and He provides me with love & comfort in a way that no human can…He is family. He is my Father and I am His son. He speaks to me and teaches me things that no human can. Let me share one thing with you on that note. One day while I was shopping, I saw a plaque that read “Faith” “Family” “Friends” And I was bothered. I was new in the family of God and I didn’t like seeing a “religious” sign for sale in an ordinary store…I mean it would be ok in a church store but not in a department store (right?) And, why did the word “Faith” have to be on the top (taking precedence over the other Family & Friends?) I would have at least placed the word “Faith” on the bottom. Well, the Lord asked me a question which got me thinking. He showed me that my family and friends could be taken away and without “faith” how would I handle that? Tragedy can happen to my family (God forbid) & things can happen between friends. God showed me that by putting “Faith” on top, I can actually be better within my family unit. I can be a better parent, brother & son. If anything happened to my family I can have God there to help us pull out of tragedy. I can teach my kids about faith too so they can conquer fear in their own lives.

Cont> I have not lost hope in fellow man. If I were a religious man (maybe) but on the contrary, I have much hope for my fellow man. If I were painting a picture I would use the illustration of white, black & grey but I realize that people are more dynamic than that. I’m sorry if my messages leave you with that impression. Truly, I could group people into political groups of Democrats & Republicans but that is not what I am trying to convey either. My hope is NOT in Politics. Yes, I may say believers and non believers but essentially, It is not my place to judge. I can not tell who is a believer and who is not, unless someone’s “confession/s” & reveals their own standing with God. However I must correct you on one thing; Receiving the Holy Spirit and becoming a child of God (being born-again of His spirit) does make me a “saint.” The word “saint” comes from the Greek word hagios, which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred & pious.” Does that mean that the Catholic church will erect a statue of me and place it in the Vatican? Ha, ha…God forbid! Being a saint does not entitle me to walk around with arrogance or feeling like I am better than anyone else. Jesus is the son of God and He did not walk around with arrogance. He sets my example to follow after. Being a saint has nothing to do with me earning a title but more of who God is by placing His children up on high…Spiritually, I am seated with Christ at the right-hand of the Father. I humbly accept the position God places me along with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I do not lord over others but reveal to them what is theirs also (for the asking & taking.)

Cont> In closing, Noah turned into a drunk and was found lying about naked. He was considered a Godly man. Jesus turned water into wine…not cheap garbage but a fine tasting wine. When the bible says to be sober…it is talking about alert. If I spent my days like I used to…I would not know Jesus if He walked into a room with a red hat. I wouldn’t be able to hear the still, small voice that He uses when He speaks to me. Noah had witnessed all of his friends & neighbors die in a flood. I can only imagine how he coped with the responsibility of what was asked of him and being on that ark for all that time. I actually, enjoy seeing that Noah ended up naked & drunk. His sons were cursed for placing clothing back on him. When I read about God & Jesus…I don’t get the feeling like I am supposed to behave like a religious prude. I may come off like that in my writings but that is not how I am. I do have responsibilities though and I do recognize that my actions effect other people. If I were to walk around intoxicated, how would that effect others who look up to me. I have been positioned in a place of authority. God put me there. He has always done that (even when I dint know Him.) It is a part of who I was created to be. I still know how to have fun. I enjoy life so much more now because I am not trying to measure up, I just accept who God made me to be. I don’t fight against myself anymore, I don’t numb the pain with stimulants...rather, I have forgiven everyone that ever hurt me. I have peace & joy now.

@TerryP & @Hardy_Boyz I should have made myself more clear regarding my last post. I don't think there are purely good or purely evil people. We are shaped by our genetics and circumstances. Even the most pious Christian is bound to have a naughty streak. Even the most evil dictator can not help to care about a person special to him. This makes humans so interesting. Imagine how boring one-dimensional characters would be!

@TerryP Kindred 'spirits' LOL. I always thought I was like whiskey in that I get better as I get older. Hehehehehe. @VanityCat probably thinks he is a Corona. Not sure how that works out when he gets older. Does piss gets better or worse with age, VC? ;)

As you know, I don't know whether there is a God or a Devil. It would be more interesting if there are, than if there aren't. There a millions of questions I would like to ask them. The first being...WHY?!? Why this torture of a life? Why making it so hard for us to live? Why two separate forces - good and evil? Why this everlasting duality?

I do not fear being punished for not believing. It is my nature to question. To study rather than to take things for granted. If you call this evil, so be it. I've always been and always will be sceptical. I'm just lousy at believing.

@drDevil Concerning the details of the discussion we had in private, I pass in public because a New Secular Orthodoxy has developed among its advocates, now so dogmatic as to severely condemn anything that questions their position. Now, as to your question WHY? What you're doing is asking the very same questions people struggled with in the Bible. "How shall we know the word that the Lord has NOT spoken?" It's like even the ancients, for all their certainty in places ("...the Lord is our rock...I shall not be moved...") also looked up and often said in anger because of the evil around them, "God, I would just once like to put you on trial for all the suffering you have allowed!" In Job, the blameless man of the same name is super religious, wealthy, has wonderful children, great health, but loses it all in one day. Boy, is he pissed off at God! The same questions that you ask have been asked. People just got away from the Bible and somehow think that no one else had the same concerns. After all, they were not so educated or high tech as we are. Charges that God himself is guilty of Impeachable Offenses were eloquently made in Bible already. In questioning God's goodness, you are standing in the same place people of faith have stood. "There's nothing new under the Sun." God has not set a statute of limitations on your questions. How could he be angry at you for 21st century honesty?See you

@drDevil Perhaps the closest the ancients got to the gene pool was to speak of a father's "seed" and all this lying together among males and females produced children and families. The best of them had an evil streak. King David was a man after God's heart and also a man after the wife of Uriah the Hittite, a loyal soldier who did nothing worse than marry a beautiful wife. After David had impregnated her, Uriah was too loyal to enter her bedroom. There was a war on and Uriah considered other soldiers could not come home. So David sent Uriah out with sealed orders. The orders contained instructions to place Uriah into the thick of battle where he could not possibly survive. Of course, he died in battle. King David was a sucker for a slick story. He was confronted by the Prophet Nathan. Nathan told a touching story about a man who had huge flocks but stole the only lamb a poor man had for a feast rather than use one of his own. David was furious and declared the man deserved death. Then Nathan used David's words against him, "You are that man!" Yeah, the Bible is not written by reporters or politicians, or the dark side of certain public leaders would not be so suppressed or only selectively reported. But boy the stories we can write.

@drDevil You asked about believing in the Devil. The Gospel contains no requirement per se to believe in the Devil. People here on the forum who speak of him believe the Devil can catch you off guard more easily if you believe he did not exist.

Look. the purpose of the Gospel is NOT TO FILL UP HELL WITH CONDEMNED SOULS.

But some now and then think God just lusts to punish.
