Have you ever done something dangerous, and you knew just how dangerous it was? It feels good, exhilarating, and cool. It started with dares, became bets, and now I do it just for fun. I can't stop doing it. Your muscles tighten, your mind starts racing with thoughts of what you shouldn't have done, and you make a wish for something to happen in your life. At least, that's what happens to me. But, then he came along, with those silver eyes that cause me to freeze and make me wonder what he sees in me. And with him comes change to the small town that I've called home for more than half of my life. The change that follows him isn't the best though, dangerous beyond my imagination. Trains are no longer the only dangerous thing I've found myself standing in the path of, but a prophecy that seems to loathe my very existence in this world.

Maggie is a socially handicap recluse gamer who doesn’t liked physical contact outside a handshake and even then only when it’s necessary. Her only link to the outside world is her nosey neighbor Hannah. When Maggie hears a bunch of noise from her Hannah’s house against her better judgment she goes over to see if her friend is okay. She finds her neighbor murdered at the hands of her bad boy boyfriend a high profile drug runner. Now he wants Maggie dead, being the only thing that connects him to the murder. Unwillingly Maggie is forced into a witness protection program with her own personal bodyguard who is pure sex appeal on two feet but the only thing Maggie wants to do is complete the latest raid on her favorite game.

Chase Hancock is the one that got away for Brian Hunter. He finally has a chance to put the narcotics dealer behind bars but to do so he has to babysit the witness. As if that wasn’t bad enough, his witness is the oddest person he has ever met. She stutters more times than she doesn’t, recites scientific principals when she to calm down her nerves, and seems to only care about some stupid computer game. Can he protect her or will he end up killing her himself.
