@HeyMrJones211 We should go on a strike! Ebooks are way cheaper sometimes, though. That's why places like Barnes and Nobles are going out of business. But I love the smell of books. Is that weird? |

@Headless_Ostrich I love IT! It's a great book, made me kinda nervous around clowns (doesn't help my mom has a clown collection, pictures of em', figurines, all different kinds of things.) @the_love_doctor And lucky! My family never buys me books. I have to buy them myself. And if my family does get me books they're shitty ones. Lol. |

@Headless_Ostrich Except for short ones...midget clowns freak me the fuck out. Lol...but that doesn't have to do with reading IT, that was more of a traumatic experience. |

@Carlos_Rodriguez "The Gunslinger" is my favorite Stephen King novel. "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed." With opening lines like that how can you go wrong? "Dr. Sleep" seems intriguing. It's hard to believe that he would compose a follow-up after these years, but I have faith in King's storytelling abilities. |

I've started the Dark Tower series now, and I can defiantly say it's pretty awesome. Quarter of the way through the second book at the mo... The Stand is my favourite of King's work though. I like apocalyptic stuff, and his look on his things is quite interesting. The Man in Black has gotta be one of the best bad guys ever created. |

I just ordered The Stand. Gonna read it soon. So, what should we discuss now about King? I'm out of ideas. |

@Carlos_Rodriguez What about film adaptions? I've seen the shinning and about a 1/4 of that one where the guy is dead but alive during his autopsy. I loved thw Shining, was a brilliant film worth a few watchs. =D |

I'm in the middle of reading Needful Things and Dreamcatcher. I have a habit of becoming attached to characters that end up dead, but that's one of the reasons I love his books. I have no idea about any of his newer books as I'm still trying to get through my mum's huge collection of his books. |

@TheRobot Definitely. Idk maybe it's just me but I've always found his books scarier than his movies. |

@HeyMrJones211 True that. And I've only watched The Shining and Misery. Both good films. @MoonChaser I wish my mom was that cool to read King! She likes Mary Higgins Clark. |

@TheRobot @Carlos_Rodriguez Same. But it's just when he writes...gosh. I could watch his movies, go to sleep, and dream about rainbows and unicorns. But his books? Hell no, I've freaked before. I'm especially afraid to read Insomnia, because I myself am in insomniac and I just know it's gonna eff with my brain. |

I liked his Four Past Midnight, each short story had me reeling for more. Of course Under the Dome was great too, Misery, Thinner, The Stand, The Dark Tower Series, IT, No Dark Full Stars, Needful Things, Desperation . . . all of the ones I've read are my favorites. You just can't go wrong with a Stephen King except the ending to the Dark Tower series (luckily he fixed it sort of) and the short story The Mist (he totally cheated with that ending). -G |
