@dreamingthought I won't be good at reviewing (I'd rather get reviewed ) but I already started an article, I could also help with world building @musicalsweets @BoyToy4Cato Since both of you do reviews I'd like you to review a story I wrote in a form of poems, it's completed (5 parts) it's a fantasy/poetry http://www.wattpad.com/story/1020471-eternal-pain I'm a beginner and would use alot of critique |

Hi! Sounds great...Um...things I can do: interviews, world building, the cliches thing, and reviews of novels. A few questions about these though: will interviews be full of weird questions (various magazines do this), or will we actually be asking them about writing, Wattpad, etc? What exactly will we be doing with world building? Suggesting how to build your fantasy world well? Something else? The cliches is pretty straight forward...and the reviews: I'm a bit harsh when I want to be, so I think I'm good for this ;) @SpeculativeThoughts |

@NouMoussa Sure, I'd be happy to! I'm not great when it comes to poetry, but I'll do my best. :) |

@musicalsweets - Reviewing a book (any idea of what book you'll be reviewing yet?) @Crimson613 - Compiling a list of helpful sites for fantasy writing @BoyToy4Cato - Contest? @gunner111 - Can you come up with a particular writer to interview? Also, if you'd like interview readers, how would that go? What kind of questions would you be asking both readers and writers? @crazydaydreamer - Already has made a beautiful cover for us @NouMoussa - You said you started working on an article, what will it be on? @iFantastic - As for your question about world building. I know world building can be a hang up and an issue for many writers of fantasy. I struggle with it myself. For example, coming up with all the details of how your magic systems work, political systems, religions, different communities, their history, languages, etc. There is a lot that goes into good world building. How much is enough? Where to go for resources and ideas? What books do it well, and how much is just enough? Just some idea of what to cover. This could easily be an article in every issue. One issue discussing languages, one histories, one map creation, waring factions, religions, etc. World building is an extensive part of High Fantasy if done well. As far as covering cliches, I think that could easily be covered every issue as well. Cover one fantasy cliche/archetype each issue. What makes it cliche, what makes it an Archetype, and how to do it the right way. For example, the orphan main character is over done, but can still be done well with an original spin. Harsh reviews are okay, as long as we're not alienating anyone, you know? Personally, I don't mind harsh review of books so I know what's really worth looking into, but perhaps get the author's permission first if you go this route? @KingBritain - We'd be happy to have you! What would you like to cover? I'm open to just about anything. |

@dreamingthought I'm not sure, but if I think of something, can it be in the magazine? I could also do reviews, maybe. |

@crazydaydreamer I think we might have enough people wanting to do reviews. Unless you'd like to focus on some particular area. Such as only Short stories, or poetry. If you'd like to write an article, just let us know what on so we've got some diversity in what we're covering. |

@dreamingthought Thanks for the answers xD I think I'm up to do those. Are you going to assign me one, a combination or all? Because I have a whole rant book full of freakin' cliches, I do excessive world building so I bet I can help with that, and I do pretty honest reviews. Any would be fine with me! |

@NouMoussa I'll check it out, but maybe not today. I have a critique thread, and some of those people have been waiting like 2 days. But I promise I'll check it out! |

@dreamingthought Although I would prefer only 1 or 2 of them...3, between school, writing my own stories, sports and activities, etc. may be too much. |

@dreamingthought Well, we already have a good amount of reviewers...this is a tough choice >.< Um...I want to do cliches, but I'm afraid I'll get a little out of hand with my rant xD and world building would be good, too, although I'm not sure I'll have that much to say. And may I suggest another category? General writing tips. Voice, character development, etc. but mainly focused on fantasy (because voice in a romance story and voice in a fantasy story would be much different). |

@dreamingthought Okay, I've picked! Clichés it is. And when do we have to have our article in by? And is there a certain format I must follow? (like state the cliche, get more detaile into it, say what's so annoying about it, tell them how to give it a creative spin/redo it, and then give examples of real books and Watty books that do it well...or another format) |

I'd like to do something in the world building section I think. If you need more than one for that section. Doesn't really matter what. Cultures, creature/ species creation, governments, landscapes, magic systems. |

Sorry for … drifting off there for a bit. Deadlines, lets aim for the end of April for first drafts. We'll see how it comes together and hope to get it put together by mid May. Does that work for everyone? @iFantastic - will be writing about Cliches @Sekkan - will be writing about World building. Both of you, care to cover a few aspects of your topic for the first issue, and save some for upcoming issues? Those ares can be you 'beat' if you will. Work? @NouMoussa - a general fantasy/poetry article - hows that coming along? @BoyToy4Cato - You still up for doing a mini contest? @musicalsweets what will you be reviewing? Got a book in mind? @gunner111 Who do you have in mind for interviews? Interviews might take a bit of turn around time, so get those sent to the prospective authors/readers asap if your'e still up to it. @Crimson613 - How's that helpful sites list coming along? @KingBritain - I'm sorry, what were you interested in covering? The more the merrier, because if anyone drops out, we'll still have plenty to offer. I'm going to be working on a general how to write article. |
