My opinion-- I believe that vampires do not actually exist. But there are mental problems--such as schizophrenia--that can lead you to believing that vampires do exist. Whether or not you are the vampire or the people around you are. It's quite scary actually. Then there is also the classic case of psyche out. You can easily convince yourself that something is real if you think you know enough about it. When I was twelve, I was fully convinced I was a vampire thanks to Twilight and then the next few series I read but then I realized that vampires are supposed to be evil, blood sucking creatures, that have no regards for human life. There are places out there that only host "the undead" and serve blood to their customers. Like bars and such.... Then there are the people who actually have to drink blood to survive. Those people actually need it... Some people drink blood as some kind of fetish or sexual fantasy. As for the whole...uh energy eating vampire, well, I believe that if you are an eccentric or happy, playful person, that you can make a person seem more drained than they had before because they don't have the amount of energy compete with yours. And then by the time you ask about it, of course they'll same "damn, I'm feeling drained of all my energy" because you have planted the idea in their heads that you are taking away their energy. And if you think that you need to "suck away people's energy" then you probably just need more sleep. |

@EricaStanciu The "psycic vampires" made me facepalm but the boyfriend and the "friend" comments made me lose some faith in humanity. @CodeOfEevo Aye, at least that makes some sense. @Ari3ll3Erica Dude, you didn't tag her. TAG HER, TAG HER, TAG HER!!! @clowen This conversation has been entertaining. Dance, puppets, dance! |

@clowen Indeed. Entertaining, it has been. @PrincessofObsidian Are you serious? They have bars and other places that serve blood for public drinking? ...By that do you mean humans' blood or animal blood? Either way, it's kind of disturbing. @LadyAstor Some is better than none... *hinting to a certain few comments* |

After reading this.... Ya'll are kind of loony Vampire myths come from way back when they had no way of proving that a person was dead so they would dig a grave and bury them. At night, some one would sit by the graves and wait to see if the person was still alive. If that person was, they would physically claw their way out of their shallow graves and return to walking their earth. I assume that some were so out of their mind from lack of oxygen and being scared that they would attack the person that was watching over their graves. (Seriously, if i was buried before i was dead, I would attack somebody too.) Then the undead person would pprobably flee and soon die from their short burial. The person that was attack would then go back and tell everyone in their village that the person had tried to steal their soul or drain their blood or something crazy like that. |

@CodeOfEevo Not sure, but those places do exist. As I said, psych out--people will do anything to prove they are vampires. |

@LadyAstor Yes it has and I had almost forgotten you were part of this brilliant discussion lol. @CodeOfEevo Yes, yes it has. @PrincessofObsidian Hmm that sounds more like the legends of zombies than of vampires I know werewolves started from Native American skin-walkers tales. |

In my own opinion, I think anything is possible. However since there is no proof, I won't delude myself. If there was proof, I would believe it. However (and no offense to anyone) I don't believe people saying it over the internet. |

@clowen i Know o_o But a few years ago, I did a report on how vampire myths were started and that's what I got out of it.... Plus, Zombies are flesh eaters. Vampires are blood drinkers. And then if you think about it, with all the religious people in those days, then it only makes sense that they thought that their omens could ward away the people who had gone crazy.... I just over explained, didn't I? lol. |

@PrincessofObsidian That reminds me of the zombie myths... but that's a story best explained by a history expert. Which I'm not. Um... all I can really say is wow. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking when they get into these things. @EndofSilence112 Agreed. |

@PrincessofObsidian Trust me as a guy from a strong christian family and his views being more middle ground then it's not crazy. I feel that it's not supernatural more mental issue or confusion in the past of where these fantasies originated. Sigh but then again to each their own right lol. |

However I've read up alot about diseases that are similar to vampires (thanks for my over curiosity) I found that there are diseases similar to things with vampires. like being allergic to sunlight or being anemic. The legends of vampires actually stems from a certain disease that makes you allergic to sunlight, anemic and even makes you a little crazy in the head. these people would attack people and that's pretty much how the legend of vampires came. (well that's pretty much it. I left out alot of details cause I don't know everything) |

@CodeOfEevo lol. if you think about it a little, it actually makes a lot of sense.... People are delusional and they'll do everything in their power to make sure they stay in their pretty little, blood sucking worlds. @clowen Exactly! these people weren't coming back to life, they were already alive when they crawl out of their graves they just weren't in the right state of mind and they attacked the peson who they thought had buried them.... It's all explained so simply but people have to make it something more than it is >_< Said too much again.... |

@EndofSilence112 That looks like it could explain a lot, but I think it's really a combination of strange things and diseases that helped people come up with the vampire legend. I don't know, that's just my thought. @clowen It really is interesting, though, as in interesting enough to make a book or movie out of. Maybe even to daydream about. But some people just take it a bit too far. |

@PrincessofObsidian It's fine folks are insane in some sense if it threatens their normalcy. It's the attack or flee part of us most would flee others attack and it is the attackers who get to write history in the way that they determine. |

@PrincessofObsidian But what's the point of being in your own little blood-sucking world if you're possibly throwing your real life away? And a chance at a happy life with normal children that won't be teased because their parents drink blood? The logic. It. Does not. Compute. >.> |

@clowen True. But the attacker was never around long enough... If the person survived long enough, they were hunted down and killed for rising from their grave and attacking a person. It would be pretty epic if we could read a story of how it actually all went down o_o |

@CodeOfEevo I dont know... I assumemost people snap out of it.. I did and it only took the smack of reality. people prefer to live in their own little worlds though, and if they want to stay there, they will because they are content for the time being. Until reality smacks them in the face, they are stuck in their fantasy land. You don't acyually have to be mentally insane to do that either. All it takes is a strong imagination and an unhappy daily life....or less |
