"The Adventures of You" Contest

Sophie Talbot and publisher Chooseco (also publisher of Choose Your Own Adventure books) are inviting Wattpad writers to enter a writing contest based on the cliff-hanger ending of Fabulous Terrible: The Adventures of You!

Sophie Talbot has already penned the second book in the series, and it is being released in Spring 2011. But we'd love to hear how you'd complete the story.

How It Works: This Fall, read the first volume in the Fabulous Terrible series on Wattpad. When you reach the jaw-dropping ending, YOU write the next three pages of the story. Please limit to 1000 words so we have time to read all your submissions!

"Get Your Poem Published" Extravaganza! Contest Sponsored by Frontenac House

Do you have a poem pacing about in the confines of your computer or your mind? Is it wild? Gentle? Hilarious? Tragic? Insane? Serious? Abstract? Concrete? All of the above? The year 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of Frontenac House and the Quartet poetry series. To celebrate, Frontenac extended its usual quartet to ten books - Dektet 2010 - released this April.

But that's not all. Frontenac has joined forces with Wattpad to create Extravaganza! a unique poetry competition that invites young poets from all over the planet to upload and share their best poem.

The winning poems will be published in Extravaganza! a Frontenac House poetry book to be released towards the end of 2010. The book will be published in digital formats as well as a limited edition print version.

Frontenac House is a dynamic Calgary-based literary press that publishes poetry, aviation history, political satire and fine art books. Frontenac House made its debut as a poetry press in 2001 with the publication of its first four poetry books, Quartet 2001. The Quartets have become an annual event; Quartet books and poets have won or been nominated for most of the major poetry prizes in the country, including the Stephan Stephansson Award, the Trillium Poetry Prize, and the Griffin Poetry Prize.
