A MESSAGE FROM JUDGE

ATWOOD
Judging the Attys, Competitor Level, was very hard. For this level, entrants had to submit ten poems in ten different “forms,” a form being anything on the list provided by Wattpad, and any other recognized form not on that list.
All ten shortlisted poets did this, and all demonstrated mastery of craft, originality, emotional force and honesty, and grace in handling the language.
The three finalists were those who, in my humble opinion, performed best in these categories – though it was a close-run race among the top five for those three spots – and the overall winner was the one who showed best on all counts.
I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and the sheer work that all entrants displayed. I doubt that I myself would have done very well at this! Congratulations to all!
