Yay exciting, it has been a long road - still a long way left to go, (there will be a third book), but that one will require a bit more planning .... I will talk about it at the end of this book ;)

(Circe’s P.O.V)

The grand doors opened slowly and two impeccably dressed elves strode out from inside, taking their places at either side of the doors. Around me, the soldiers from each company dropped to one knee, their heads bowed. Jenna followed suit, her eyes telling me to do the same as a tall man walked through the doors clothed in gold and green. As I had been taught, I dropped into a low curtsy to show my respect.

“All rise.” The Kings voice was smooth and fluid and although he did not raise his voice, the words echoed out as though he had shouted them.

We all straightened together as he walked down the steps towards us, coming to a halt in front of me. He was a beautiful man, tall and elegant he held himself with all the grace of a King. He had long brown hair that was braided down his back, his tapering ears poking out from underneath the tresses, a delicately woven crown sitting atop of his head. His eyes were slanted and shone an astonishing emerald green, his curved brows raised as he looked me over, lips pursing. He had an unusual face, shaped like a tear, coming to a point at his chin.

“You must be Princess Circe. It is a pleasure to meet you.” His voice was careful and his eyes were sharp.

“The pleasure is all mine your Grace.” I replied smoothly, giving a smaller curtesy. “I have been looking forward to this moment for a long time.”

A small smile touched his lips, instantly changing his face into a much more approachable one. “I am pleased to hear that Princess. Under such circumstances your presence is a blessed one. There have not been people of Water or Air in our great Kingdom for many, many years and we are so happy to finally accommodate our kin once again.” With this, he spread his arms to include all of the elves that had gathered to watch. “Tonight we shall celebrate the end of the banishment! I trust that our guests will be welcomed and made comfortable, today will be marked down in history as the day that the three Kingdoms were united one again!”

A great cheer rose up from the crowd and the King was smiling as he turned to Jenna. “Make sure that the guests are shown to their rooms.” I saw his eyes flicker for a moment towards Obsidian, still chained and standing slightly off to the side. It could have been just me, but I thought I saw his smile drop for a moment. He leaned forward and whispered in her ear before straightening back up with a tight smile.

My eyes flickered towards Cobalt’s and I saw my worry mirrored in his eyes. If what Hobbson had said about this King was true, then there was a good reason for the both of us to worry about Obsidian.

A hand touched the small of my back and I looked up into Ambrose’s cautious blue eyes. The words were clear on his face. Do not question anything. I nodded slightly before stepping forward to follow the procession that was being lead up to the castle.

The inside of the castle was all that I had imaged it to be and more. I felt as though I was stepping into a fairy tale unlike any of the others that I had experienced before. This was the fairy tale that every little girl had heard of as a child, this is what she dreamed of when she imagined being the Princess of a beautiful castle. This was the stuff of legend.
