Chapter 5: The Vents

I sighed as I lay on the bed, it has been exactly a week since I've been staying in Draco's room, and must I say I miss my old room. Draco was nice and all, but he was so boring, and he was actually never in the room, he actually left like every day at a certain time, which I thought was sort of weird. But he was probably doing things for my father so I didn't care. Draco had just brought in my lunch, and he then left after that, I had barely even touched the food even though Draco had told me it wasn't poisoned, he had even tasted it himself, but I just didn't trust this food here. I would only eat a little, but not a lot.

I looked at the clock to see it was almost 3 in the afternoon; I still had yet to go get my necklace from my room, but that mostly because either Draco was watching me or someone was always outside my door. Which I thought was stupid, I mean it's not like I could actually escape this place... I stood up as the pants fell slightly when I did; even when I had them tied they were still too big. Draco had said he would get me clothes, but he still had yet to give me any clothes beside new underwear, and a bra. Maybe he liked it when I wore his clothes?

I sighed as I stood up and went into the bathroom, I guess I could take a shower, and there was really nothing else to do when Draco wasn't here. He would usually be gone for at least 2 hours, and it has only been an hour.... So I still had an hour to kill before he came back.

I then looked at myself in the mirror, Draco's shirt and pants were way too big for me. I looked like one of those rappers in America. My shirt fell slightly to the side revealing my shoulder and neck, while my pants were slightly sagging. My hair in a messy ponytail, I looked at my pale self and slightly hollowed cheeks. I sighed, the girl I once was, was officially gone. This girl no longer smiled, no longer blushed, this entire girl did was mope around feeling sorry for herself and hated the world. I then turned around as I headed to the shower trying to get the images of Fred and Clary out of my head.

However, when I was walking to the shower I didn't see the small puddle of water on the floor and I slipped and fell on the tiled floor on my back.

"Ow." I whined as I opened my eyes slightly and saw a vent on the ceiling, but I haven't ever noticed this vent before, this one was a bigger vent. "Maybe big enough to fit a person?" I said to myself with a smile, this could actually be my way out of here. I headed out of the room to look for some socks; I grabbed a pair of socks and hastily put them on. I then grabbed the tray of food as I opened the door to see one of the death eaters, an older looking gentleman, he glared at me.

"What do you think you're doing?" he asked suspiciously as he looked at me.

"Just putting my tray out here." I said as he nodded, I placed the tray on the ground, if I didn't for awhile they would just come in and ask for it, and I couldn't have that. I quickly took a glance around to see this man was the only man in front of my door, good. I then turned around and closed the door behind me. I quickly then grabbed the knife I hid under my shirt, I had snuck it from the tray, I then ran back into the bathroom as I placed a pillow on the toilet. I started to stand on the pillow as I tried to reach for the screws on the vent. I could just barely reach it as I started to unscrew the screws with the knife; I heard a small clatter as one dropped to the floor. I immediately stopped what I was doing afraid someone might of heard that, even though it was impossible, but it seems like everything I was doing was like an explosion of sound and they would soon catch me trying to escape.
