Last paragraph of the last chapter :
"After she pulled back I led us into the cave and I sat down on the blanket. Grace soon followed and sat down on my lap. We sat and watched the shore line and the sun recede into the distance and the stars appear.
Soon we were asleep in each other's arms lying on a blanket in a cave under the shining stars. The moon was our nightlight and the cicadas were our lullaby."

I awoke to my head on Will's chest and we were lying on the blanket in the sand. The cold morning air nipped at my arms and legs so I snuggled closer to Will. I started rubbing my hand up and down his stomach to try and get him to stir a little but he wouldn't come around. I leaned up on my elbows and got on top of him. I started tickling him. Will flew up in shock and grabbed my waist. He flipped us over and pinned me to the ground.
I looked up at him and his eyes were wide open and he was panting. I started laughing at him because the frightened look on his face was priceless. He took a big breath and then huffed it out while burring his head in my shoulder. He stayed like that for a few seconds before he started laughing too.
A few minutes later our giggling subsided and Will leaned up over my face. He kissed each of my eyelids and then slowly trailed his lips down to my own. The kiss was simple and delicate but yet oh so sweet....
Time seemed to pass much faster then before. We were almost finished with high school and we were all applying for college. Will was looking for jobs were he could use his hands like construction or road work. Henry and Alex and I were already working at a restaurant together and we had the same shift. I was working as a waitress. The tips were good but by the end of the day my feet and back were sore from the strain. Henry was working in the kitchen and Alex worked in the dish room.
I was just getting off of work with Horndog and Alex. They dropped me off home because we carpooled and I jumped in the shower. Will and I were going on a date tonight. I quickly got dressed and met Will downstairs. We went out to the car and he drove to the fair. We met Henry and Alex there after a while but split up after a while to do our own thing.
Will led me to one of the game booths, the one with a star on paper and a BB gun. He paid the man two dollars and then picked up the gun. He aimed it at the star and shot. He was really good. The star was almost completely out by the time that the bullets were all gone. Will came back over to me and asked, "Grace, do you want to try?" I looked down at my feet and blushed. I said, "Uuuummm, well I ahhhh, kind of have never shot a gun before." Will kissed my forehead and said, "That's alright. I'll show you." He handed the man another two dollars and then got behind me and placed the gun in my hands. It was long like a shotgun and it had a wooden base. My back was flush against Will's chest and his rhythmic breathing was in my ear. He braced the butt of the gun against my shoulder and, with his hands over mine, grasped the trigger and under the barrel. The first time I pulled the trigger there was some pressure on my shoulder. The gunshots sounded like a swarm of hornets. It was exciting and new to me. I ended up missing most of the star but I don't think I did horrible for my first time. We also played a few more games before I asked, "Will, can we go on the Ferris wheel." Will pulled my chin up and said, "I'd love too." he leaned forward and slowly kissed me. When he pulled back he took my hand. We walked hand in hand to the Ferris wheel.
After passing many other booths we made our way to the Ferris wheel. After a few more revolutions of the wheel, it started to slow down. Soon it would be our turn. Will and I got in the seats and brought the safety bar over ourselves. We held on to each other as we rode up to the peak and descended to the bottom. The motion had a calming affect on me so I buried my head on Will's shoulder. He acknowledged it by laying his head on top of mine.
We walked around for another hour or two but I was getting tired. Will noticed when I couldn't stop yawning and he laughed at me for it. Will asked, "Tired, are we Grace? Do you want to go home?" I nodded and then said, "Do you want to stay the night." Will caught me by surprise and kissed me good and earnest. He held the back of my head with one hand and cupped my jaw with the other. After he pulled back he rested his forehead against mine and we stopped to catch out breaths. I said, "What brought that about? Not that I'm complaining, but that's not like you." He smiled and said "what, I can't show you how much I love you." I started blushing profusely and Will noticed. He kissed my nose and mumbled, "Awww your so adorable." I mimicked him and said, "Awwww your so cute" neither of us could contain it; we both cracked a smile at first then busted out laughing.
We phoned Alex and Henry and told them we were leaving. The ride home was uneventful but we held hands the whole way and kissed at all the red lights. Will parked the car and we both got out. Mr. and Mrs. Soman were already in bed so we crept up the stairs quietly. After stumbling into my room I went for a change of clothes. I showered in my bathroom and Will went in the guest bathroom. We laid down on the bed, both clean and smelling fresh but still a little soggy. I kissed Will good night and soon drifted off to sleep. it wasn't to late but I had work in the morning.
