My Daily Confessions by Chris van der Merwe

(by Chris W. van der Merwe)

My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Ps. 121:2)

The LORD watches over me-the LORD is my shade at my right hand. (Ps. 121:5)

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, "Do not fear; I will help you." (Isa. 41:13)

The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. (Hab 3:19)

Colossians 3:14-17 (LB)

14Most of all, let love guide your life, for then the whole church will stay together in perfect harmony.

15And let the peace of God rule (or be the Umpire) in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and always be thankful.

16Remember what Christ taught, and let his words enrich your lives and make you wise; teach them to each other and sing them out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing to the Lord with thankful hearts.

17And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, and come with him into the presence of God the Father to give him your thanks.

The just shall live by faith. (Rom 1:17) I live by faith and not by sight or by how I feel. (2Cor 5:7) For the things which are seen (or felt) are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2Cor. 4:18) I set my affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Col 3:2)

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word (rhema: spoken Word) of God. (Rom 10:17) The spirit of faith is having believed I speak. (2Cor 4:13) God speaks of the things which are not, as though they were; (Rom 4:17) He declares the end from the beginning. (Isa 46:10)

I walk by faith, not by sight or by how I feel. (2Cor 5:7) For the things which are seen (or felt) are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2Cor. 4:18) I set my affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Col 3:2)

Of myself, Lord, I can do nothing; and of myself I am nothing. (John 15:5) But with You I am more than a conqueror. (Rom 8:37) And I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. (Phi 4:13) And all things are possible to them that believe. (Mt 9:23) All that I am and have is in You, Lord Jesus. In You do I live, and move, and have my being. (Acts 17:28) I am crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. (Gal 2:20)

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. (1Pet 5:5b) Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. (1Pet. 5:6)

Whoever shall say to this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he said shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he said. (Mark 11:23) Therefore I say to you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. (Mark 11:24)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1) Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Heb 11:6)

From this day forward...

∙ I will make a difference.

∙ Jesus, I thank You that You suffered and died for me on the cross to pay for my sins.

∙ Father, I thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead to be my living Lord and Savior.

∙ Holy Spirit, I thank You that You will lead me to do the right thing and change my world.

∙ Today, Lord, I want to make You a promise.

∙ I will not be ashamed of Your name or Your Gospel.

∙ I will do what I can for those who are persecuted and pray for them.

∙ I will look enemies in the eye and love them with Your love.

∙ I will pray for them and love them - no matter what the consequences.

∙ I will follow Your voice wherever You lead me, unafraid, for I know You will be with me.

∙ If I should stumble, if I fall, if I should deny Your name, if I should feel guilty that I did not pray or forgot to do something You've asked me to do, I will not quit. I will not wallow in guilt. I will turn back to You, confess my sin, and do what You called me to do, because that is why You died for me.
