1. Do have any books that you'd like recommend to us?
Andy McDermott, Victoria Forester, Steven Gould, John Connolly, Christopher Paolini
2. How did you first find out about wattpad?
Stumbled upon it when searching for free books back in February last year.
3. What was the first story you've posted on this website? Are you posting stories on other websites too?
First story I posted was Being. A mixed sci-fi fantasy horror story. And no, Wattpad is the sole website for my stories. Not on Deviantart.com which was speculated a few weeks back.
4. How do you manage your time: uploading, editing other people's works, and living your personal life?
Um, I would say when I'm not working I stay up until 3-4am and write. I tend to edit people's work during the afternoons and while at work, make notes on what I plan to write during the week. On my website I try and regulate dates to upload my stories and give myself deadlines to work with. When it comes to my personal life, writing is it. On the off chance I do go out and party, I tend to explore the people around me and sometimes work little anecdotes in my stories. The drunken scene in Tattoo was as real as could be! Bless my drunken friends.
5. What was your reaction when you found out that 'Tattoo of the Black Angel' is on the featured list on the wattpad home?
Honestly shocked as I possibly could be. When I started Tattoo, over a year ago from a random crazy Chinese food i.e. chemically induced dream about a girl with wings in which when they come out black ink is splattered all over the walls, I didn't think people would like it. It was odd and weird and people liked vampires and werewolf stories which weren't me. Though wattpad had thought about featuring it, they wanted me to tone down my swearing haha, so I did! But I am truly touched and honoured for it being featured.
6. Are some of your characters' personalities based on real people?
Yes, though I'm not naming names. Saskia, female Sam, Kev, Lottie and Macie are based on real people in my life. Though a lot of people hate/love Saskia, in reality, she is one of my best friends and the same goes for female Sam. Kev, bless him, is just awesome and a full on know-it-all in every sense of the word, but he has a big heart and a good knowledgeable friend to have. Lottie, ah well that's an entirely different story. The girl who I based Lottie on I haven't seen since I was 4. She moved to Ireland and I never saw her again, but she is the essence of Lottie and a true inspiration. Macie, believe it or not, is me. Not completely, but I was the quiet, goth girl who was in the background watching on the sidelines and not really getting involved. Once I found my place in life, things seemed to pick up. But even now I'm extremely shy at times, though my friends don't think so. It takes a while for me to adjust to things, which what happens to be Macie.
7. Do you have any advice to those who want to be writers?
Yes. Once you start, FINISH YOUR BOOK! So many times I come across really interesting stories and then bupkiss...they delete it when it's getting really good. My true advice, if you have a story, plot out everything: start, middle and end and go through it. And while doing this do NOT start another book! It's crazy, it'll drive you mad! -I probably sound hypocritical having three stories on the go, but I have the plots so I know what to do with them. Also if you have writers block, don't think it's because your story is lagging, or you have no energy to finish it, go outside get some fresh air, take a pen and some paper and let nature give you ideas. Most of my ideas come to me when I'm singing in the car driving to work! It happens in strange places, but ideas are everywhere- you just need to give them time to find you.
