I ran for what felt like years. I finally came to a stop and climbed a tree making sure I was high enough that no wolf could reach me. I just felt like crawling into a hole and dying. 

"KACEY! KACEY WHERE ARE YOU?!" I whimpered in fear and shoved myself further back into the tree. I could hear Jace moving around underneath me. I saw him fall to his knees. 

"Kacey... Kacey I'm so sorry I didn't mean it to sound the way it came out. I was surprised. I'm not rejecting you, Little Kacey. Please, come back." I could hear him crying as he talked. I slowly inched down the tree and plopped down next to the now laying down Jace.

I pushed my nose against his arm. He turned his head and his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. he got on his knees and hugged me with all his might. I grunted and rubbed myself against him, I was still in my tiger form after all. He laughed and rubbed his hands down his back.

"Don't you ever do that again! I don't want you to think you have to run away from me. We're mates, I'm never going to hurt you like that. I may have been not as nice before, but never physically, and I never will be."

I butted my head against his chest as an apology. I started purring very loudly and rubbed my face against him. God it felt so good. He smiled and started scratching me. Behind the ears, on the head, on the back, I even rolled over and he scratched my tummy. Damn I got a good mate, I thought to myself closing my eyes in pure pleasure. 

I rolled him over and plopped myself on top of him. I couldn't stop my shift from rubbing his face all over Jace, getting our scent all over him. 

God his fur is so soft. I froze. I looked down at him. Did you just speak to me in my head? He blinked at me and slowly nodded. I gave him a cat like grin and continued rubbing him, licking his face. 

We stayed there for I don't know how long. Just laying, calming ourselves down. Finally Jace moved his face from my neck where he had been lightly kissing to look into my eyes. 

Jace, I thought you said we were going to go on a run?

He rolled his eyes at me and pushed me off so he could shift back. I sent him a toothy grin and took off running, I could hear him close behind me. That's how we spent the next hour or so, running around the pack lands. After a while I stopped and huffed. I sat down to catch my breath.

Jace looked over and me and gave me a wolfy grin rubbing himself against me to show he accepted me. I purred and licked his face. Then I bounded away looking back at him sending him a kitty smirk. he growled playfully and chased me.

I laughed, coming out sounding like a mix of a purr and a growl. I ran back to the house dodging trees and just enjoying the freedom of the forest. I always loved the forest. It's like a second home to me. 

All of a sudden Jace caught up to me and pounced playfully making both of us tumble to the ground. I grinned at him and rubbed my face against his. This time he licked my face and got off me. We both then just walked back to the house occasionally rubbing against each other. 

Once we reached the yard we could see a few wolves training. I was a little nervous about letting others see my cat form. No one had really seen it but my mom, I always had an excuse to not participate in group shifting activities. Many thought I was just scared and shrugged it off. 

I kept my head held high and started walking through the yard with Jace at my side supporting me. He rubbed his head against my neck and I turned to look at him. I could see all the support and maybe even love shining in his eyes.
