Note from author:
Hey guys, so here it is, the Helena spin off series. This book is loosely based from another story I am currently working on, The Not So Secret Life of Helena Callahan, but if you are a new reader – no worries! Love Me Dead is an entirely different story, and you don’t need to read any of my other books to be able to follow it (though it is strongly advised to avoid spoilers if you plan on reading The Not So Secret Life of Helena Callahan in the future). Love Me Dead is a fresh start, for a supporting character existing in another novel of mine, Chloe Faulkner.
Of course, for Helena fans who have already read her story, this will shine a new light on little Chloe as she’s all grown up now, and trying to make the most of her teenage years. The Not So Secret Life of Helena Callahan will still be continuing, Love Me Dead (Chloe’s story), is just a side project I will be working on during Helena’s story—even though it’s technically set afterwards.
Keep in mind that this is an entirely new story, even though it’s following Chloe’s life as a teen.
Enjoy!
- Kind regards, Emma.

Warning: This novel does have strong violence, harsh language, and sexual references.

Prologue:
He wanted me dead.
My hair whipped around my face, temporarily blurring my vision, as my heavy heart thudded hard into my ribcage. Still, I pressed forward, while I raced through the woods, weaving through the uneven gaps between the trees the best I could. It was getting darker now, which made the unpredictable terrain even harder to see. Not that it mattered really, because I couldn’t out run him.
That’s when my foot caught hold of a branch, unintentionally flipping it upwards, and causing me to trip. Sticks and pebbles grazed my hands as I slammed into the ground, and another fallen branch stabbed into my tense stomach. The pain was unbearable, but it was the blood that poured from the cut that worried me. I knew it was stupid, but still I couldn’t stop myself from inspecting the gaping wound. It wasn’t deep enough to cause serious damage, but it was surely going to be a part of the reason I’m sent to an early grave.
I swallowed sharply when I heard a twig snap behind me, and realising it was time to die, I slowly, sheepishly turned around. “Please,” I begged, pulling my trembling body backwards, in a pointless attempt to escape. “I’ll give you anything you want, just—let me go.”
His eyes were the same: dark, cold, ravenous. He let out a lifeless laugh, “Anything?” The man shifted forward, so he was now standing over me, his hungry eyes lingering on the wound I was desperately trying to hide from him. “I want to taste you.”
I couldn’t speak, I couldn’t move, but most of all I couldn’t stop staring into his hypnotising eyes. Slowly, gracefully, lustfully he picked me up, setting me to my feet. But it was hard to keep my stance strong with the way my knees were shaking so vigorously, uncontrollably, undeniably. His grip around me tightened, so viciously his sharp nails almost broke through my soft skin. Our eyes stayed on each others, his thirsty, mine terrified, as he softly brushed my hair away from my neck, and I loathed in that feeling of being exposed. I almost felt like I was completely naked.
