Want to know which kind of brother you are? Read on....
He is filthy, careless, ignorant and you hate him for his indifferences at times . yet he can be caring, protective, funny and you love him for being there always. From rescuing you out of every homely crisis to being a pain in the neck when your girl friends come over, your brother can be quit a nightmare, perhaps the only one you cant do without. Brother-sister relationships can be unique and enduring, but yes, it all depends in what category of brothers they fall into. Type 1: "I hate your boyfriend " Being sister-protective is almost synonymous, with every brother. They are those who slap away even the whiff of a boyfriend approaching you - the ones who think that no boy is good enough for you. "The first time I went on a date, my brother co-incidentally landed up in the same restaurant and was very upset with me. He tries to hide his over-protectiveness at times, but I guess it'll never go away completely." Laughs 17 years old Anamica Dutta. In the process of caring about you, they inadvertently invade your personal space which might affect your relationships. "the best way to deal with brother like this is to be frank whit him and allow him to build his trust over you. Assert the fact that you can take care of yourself and his interference will not help you grow in life," explains psychologist seema hingorrany. Bollywood prototype: Arbaaz khan in 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' Type 2: "you look like a hippo in that skirt " His motto in life is to irritate you so much that he might end up with a slap on his face for this behavior. Brothers lie this are so super-mischievous that you just keep thinking how calmer life would be without him. But if that's one side of his persona, he's a sweetheart when it comes to sprucing up your mood. You can even proudly introduce him to your girl friends because for them he'll certainly be the funniest guy they have ever mate. "I have a twin brother and may be that's why I can relate to him so much. At times he does annoying things like buying me a horrible shirt for my birthday, but he also makes sure I'm always smiling," says 23 years old Rohini Nair. "a patient of mine is going through a divorce and her biggest strength is her brother. He does not advice her, he isn't judgmental and only wants her to be happy." Explains Hingorrany. Bollywood prototype: SRK in 'Josh' Type 3: "Go for your dreams " A few notches above the protective brother is brother who is almost as good as a father. The advice-giving kind, a sibling relationship like this develops when there is a broad age gap between the brother and sister. "my brother is 28 years and there is so much I learn from him, that I can say my thought process replicates his now," says 20 years old Sonal Matra. Here it is possible that the brother always consider the sister as a kid and therefore hardy treats her like a grown up. "for me, this is the most sensible and giving type of brother, who always make sure that his sister learns from his experiences. But the sister clearly needs to assert that as a youngster she needs her space so that there no problems later," says Hingorrany. Bollywood prototype: Sunil Shetty in 'Hulchal' Type 4: "my sister? Who? " He is a kind who has nothing much to do with girls, be it his own sister. A reclusive brother who can hardly relate to anyone other than himself and also makes sure he stays out of his sisters way. "I care about my sister, but I can't really sit and chat up like I do with my friends." Says 17 years old Arnav Shetty. As a brother he isn't indifferent, but prefers to be non-interfering. "many boys have an "I don't care" attitude towards their family, but this goes away as they grows up to be more mature." Sums up Hingorrany. Bollywood prototype: Hrithik Roshan in 'Fiza - Omi
