The Girl In The Masquerade

Do you see her, standing alone

The Girl in the Masquerade

Never speaking, always silent, stillwaiting by the phone

For people who will never call

The Girl in the Masquerade

She's put distances and miles, in between you and her

Past her walls and gates of pain, a place you'll never go.

You see her trying to live a lie, but you hope she never knows,

That you can see past glossy eyes and realize her foe.

The Girl in the Masquerade, you say,

has never seen a breaking day

nor the sunnor the stars

that always take your breath away

But let me tell you, O Foolish One,

her eyeshave seen the light of day

but it was stolen by one who thought it was fun

to kill souls inside and keep happiness at bay

The Girl in the Masquerade

She will not smile, she will not speak

If left alone, she will fade

Fall into a dark shade of grey

So save her, save her, save her I say

There might be a day when she is there no more

to cause you to wonder, why is she this way?

Why is she The Girl in the Masquerade?

I can tell you who she is.

I can tell you all the lies you've missed.

I know who The Girl in the Masquerade is because I am she.

Don't you see?

She has become a part of me.

The Girl in the Masquerade is here, not gone,

She will forever be me, her pawn.

So unless you can somehow rip the monsters away,

The Girl in the Masquerade is here to stay.
