A Drifter's Paradise

'To bleed continuously, creating an ocean of desperate lost souls. You can only drop lower and lower down the ladder,
decay faster as your vulnerability stretches, become more exposed than you were in your previous surviving. . .
.
Once you hit rock bottom, there is no escape.'

PART I
Once Upon A Time

"Silly girl, you're not starring in some kind of fairytale. ."

"Step right up, step right up! Come behold the key to your deepest unknown fantasies!"

The tightly packed line leading up towards the small private cruise ship rocked me back and forth, flooding me with waves of nausea. Not only I was forced to stand here being pushed around all day to get on some snobby boat, the overwhelming scent of musky cologne and perfume everyone wore wasn't helping. Their heavy coats created a smoggy heat that made me sweat.

"It is explosive. It is exclusive. Just absolutely scandalous. This has got to be the best thing next to Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code!"

"What are you advertising Mister?" I asked, my eyes searching around the piles of junk bags that surrounded him. Beside him was a shaggy brown dog wearing an eye patch, similar to a pirate's.

Interesting. . .

"I'm here to offer you a once in a life time chance of happiness!"

I fiddled with the pink lace of my purse, tippy-toeing once in a while to try to see what he was searching for in the brown box he was holding.

God, I can't help but feel so giddy and worked up! Oh, what can it be!

He gave me a warm smile before placing it into my hands with satisfaction. My grin vanished. "The story of . ...
