High School to Vampire High: Chapter 1

Sam and I have been best friends forever, ever since we were in kinder garden; I’ve known him practically my whole life. Sam is this remarkably brilliant football player he’s the best in our school actually obviously you can’t tell him that or he’ll get too big headed and cocky, as most footballers do. I remember when I used to give him wedges when we were little, look at us now.

Anyway my three best friends are Tammy, Natalie, Hailey and there used to be Emma, there incredible friends and are just like me and I’ve known them for 4 years, their always there when I need them, we have our ups and downs just like any group of friends, but no one can ever change that. We’ll at least that’s what I thought, Emma was the latest addition to our group and well I guess we never knew the real her.

I don’t hate her for what she did but it did hurt quite a lot, and I can’t get that moment out of my head, I wish I could just forget it. It all happened last year we got really close and I told her who I liked as any best friends would, his name was Jacob Newman; he was amazing he had these brilliant hazel eyes and perfect brown hair. His smile was beautiful too; he made my heart stop every time I looked at him.

 The thing was that he and Emma went out once before but now I had this major crush on him and she said she’d help me and told me she was fine with it. So the year went by me and Jacob became really good friends we’d mess around with each other, I’d hit him with my books while we walked past each other and he’d smile at me all the time, it was great.

I remember the time when we were all sitting on the field outside in the summer; the sun was beating down on us while he was playing football with the guys obviously. I was listening to Taylor swift while watching him play, he kept looking at me and smiling and was trying to ask what I was listening too but because he was a bit of a retard he couldn't really lips well. He came over to us and asked if we wanted to play football with them, how could I say no to him? So I replied "yeah sure, you're so going down Baker". Of course I was going down but I was gonna go down swinging baby.

We played a pretty good game then the ball was passed over to Emma, Bradley Charleston one of Sam and Jacob's friend tried to attackle Emma and accidently decked her over and she fell flat on her bottom, she was covered with mud !!!. Me, Tammy, Natalie And Hailey stood there in shock trying to hold in our laughter, it was the most funniest thing ever Tammy and Hailey took her down to the medical room to get her cleaned up while the rest of us sat there just picturing the moment again and again laughing. 

When the bell rang for the end of lunch we walked in together and Natalie being Natalie had to scream out "Love is in the air". Me and Jacob gave each other the 'Let's get her look' and we slowly ran up behind her and wacked her round the head with our books, watching her shout "Not fair, theirs two of you" with her little puppy dog face.

 Then came … my birthday, It was on a Friday so we had school but it was non-school uniform so I wore a beautiful black dress I was kind of hoping Jacob would notice how good I looked. We finally got to school and funnily enough my tutor has the same birthday as me!! It’s quite freaky; at least his probably turned out well.

Most of the day went by pretty quick then it was lunch when it all started Emma kept forcing me to go see Jacob in the back courts but I really didn’t want to I just wanted to hang out with my friends, it seemed kind of strange why she was being like this. And she wouldn’t stop bugging me, it was raining outside and we had the Canterbury factor on during lunch, yeah I know what a cheesy name right, no I didn’t come up with it our head of house made it up. Anyway we went inside into the hall and I sat next to Emma and Jacob was in there he looked amazing in his baggy jeans and blue t-shirt, it was simple look but worked great on him. When Jacob did his puppy face it was beautiful, he always used it against me it just wasn't fair. He looked back and saw me and Emma and he waved at Emma. I was really confused, why was he waving at her it didn’t make sense. Oh well it's probably nothing right? Wrong.

 After the show we went to go hang out with Jacob near the basketball court he was trying to skate board but terribly failing it was hilarious watching him try. When he saw me and Emma he walked over to us smiling at me, he stood in front of us then he slowly moved next to Emma and put his arm around her. What the hell was going on was all I could think. Why is he putting his arm around her?? Are they together? The whole day just rewinded in my mind and I figured it out it was obvious! How could I be so blind?

The next morning Natile, Tammy and Hailey wanted to talk to me, said it was something about Emma I already knew what it was but i didn't want to believe it. We went to the park and made our way to some swings, of course we raced each other and fought for them because were just that childish. Then slowly Tammy begin to talk …
“Vicky, urmm Emma wanted to say this to you but I thought it was better if we told you.”
“Urmm okay, come on Tammy just tell me what’s up”
She gave Natile And Hailey a worried look and said in a quiet voice “Emma is going out with ... Jacob”

I already had figured that out but being told it made it official, a part of me was hoping I was just over exaggerating what happened but being told that, felt horrible. An empty space formed in my heart and I burst out into tears, they didn’t know what to do so they sat there and comforted me as we walked back to Tammy’s house and I curled up into her bed.

That was the worst birthday I had and believe me I’ve had quite a few crappy birthday’s but this year Natile, Tammy And Hailey want to do something for me and Tammy as both our birthdays are in February but I’m really dreading it. I hate my birthday that day only reminds me of betrayal, lies and me being foolish enough to believe in them two. I just can’t forget that day and I’d rather not celebrate my birthday.
