How many calories do anorexics eat??

It depends on the individual. However, it's obviously very low. From what I know of anorexia, the further the person is into the disease, the more extreme they are. so to begin with, they may reduce their calorie intake to 1000, then 700, then 500, then 300 and so on. They would obviously try to burn off most of it, however, due to lack of food would be very physically weak.

it varies. most anorexics stay between 200 and 500 calories. their entire day is warped around how they can do this without getting caught which tends to be harder for teen anorexics. others pick a food item (like a piece of cheese) and eat it throughout the day.anorexics are very manipulative and tricky. if they go over their limit they either fast or exercise or both. their number one unwritten law is to protect the eating disorder at all costs. some tricks include drinking water after every bite of food to fill up faster, tell family that you're gonna eat at a friends house and instead take a walk, take cold baths to make ur metabolism work harder to keep you warm, flex your stomach muscles to burn extra calories if you are unable to exercise,

What do anorexics eat?

had an eating disorder for about five years (although it never really goes away, i still struggle with it) and i survived on cereal, toast, fruit, salad, yogourt, and other low calorie foods. if i was in front of my parents or anyone who was paying attention, i would eat small portions of other foods (whatever was for dinner) ... i would usually try not to eat all day until dinner because that was the only meal where we ate as a family, so i had to eat something to look like i wasnt starving myself. i dont know if this is useful for your project or not, but another thing a lot of us would do is put food in a dish and push it around and then throw out the food, so the dirty dish made it appear that you had eaten lunch/breakfast.
Common Myths About Eating Disorders
Excerpted from When Your Child Has an Eating Disorder by Abigail Natenshon

Myth 1: An eating disorder is mainly about eating too much or too little. Eating disorders have less to do with food and more to do with how an individual thinks, feels, and copes with life stresses.

Myth 2: Eating disorders are contagious. People become ill through exposure to others' disordered behavior. Exposure may encourage experimentation, but an eating disorder will not take hold unless there is a chemical predisposition and a ripe emotional environment.
