Chapter 3

I'm sorry if you've read the first two chapters already, but I've changed Owen's name to Andrew. I forgot that this story coincides with Incognito, where there already is an Owen.

It's Friday.

I've made the decision to just stop by Mason's party. Andrew said Peter isn't going to be at his house until 8 anyways.

This way I can go to both parties. Everybody wins!

"Hey, Grace!" Lucy chirps, waving me over as I walk into the party house.

It's my first party. Andrew and I stayed away from these in middle school, seeing they'd be stupid anyways.

"Hi," I say and pull down the stupid dress I'm wearing.

I wanted to impress everyone, so I borrowed a horribly slutty dress from my horribly slutty older sister. It's really uncomfortable, and I'm regretting my decisions thus far.

"You look hot," Aaron compliments, leaning a little too close to my face.

I smile and thank him awkwardly.

"Grace!" Mason exclaims, wrapping an arm around my shoulders. "Please ignore Aaron. He gets insanely horny at parties."

I laugh uncomfortably, not really liking this Aaron guy. Lucy tugs my hand and takes me into Mason's kitchen where she pours me a drink.

"Oh," I breathe when she hands me the cup, "I don't drink."

"You wouldn't be alive if that was the case," she laughs as if I'm crazy.

I force a smile. "I mean I don't drink alcohol."

She frowns shortly after. "Oh..I mean..one drink won't kill you."

I look down at the red cup in my hand, all those lessons of morality my parents taught me seeming to disappear. "I guess not."

"Good!" she chirps. "Now, let's go have some fun!"

I smile and follow Lucy towards the back of the house. There are a few kids outside on the patio. When we step outside, they all greet Lucy with hugs and sort of just ignore me. I cringe at the number of beer bottles scattered on the brick.

"What are we playing?" Lucy asks, sitting on this random boy's lap. "C'mon, Grace!"

I hesitantly walk over by Lucy, gasping when a boy wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me onto his lap.

"Hey, baby," he slurs. "What's your name?"

I shift uncomfortably and slide off his lap to be halfway on the lawn chair and half on his thigh.

"Guys, this is Grace. Grace, these are my college friends," Lucy introduces with a giggle.

I nod slowly, feeling really uncomfortable right now. I think that I should just call Andrew right now to pick me up.

They decide to play spin the bottle. Luckily, I've been avoided. I feel like throwing up each time two people start sucking on another person's face. It doesn't look sanitary.

Lucy's making out with the college boy she's with, completely forgetting that I've never been to a high school party like this before. I'm panicking when the bottle lands on me.

I quickly send Andrew a text for him to pick me up. I don't care that I lied to him about where I was at this point. I just don't want to get murdered.

All I have to do is act like I've done this before and no one will terrorize me.

"I have to pee," I say quickly before quickly rushing back inside the house.
