Dear cancer,

You thought you could beat me down. But you couldn't. You thought you could take my life. But you couldn't.

It was a hard fight, the hardest 8 months of my life. You took me 3 hours away from my family and my pets. You took my hair, you took my skin. You took my weight, you took my physical strength. But I was stronger than you, deep down inside. No matter what you did to me, I just kept bouncing back. I fought and clawed and struggled my way back.

I'm not the same person I was before you came into my life. I'll never be that person again. But you know what? I don't care! I'm happy with the person I am now, and you can't hurt me any more! So there!
